Little known fact: David Lynch arrived on set to find only 1 ashtray for this scene but he wanted 2 ashtrays to visually represent the duality of Laura's character. So he halted production for 15 minutes & personally smoked an entire pack of cigarettes to fill a 2nd ashtray.
