Wasn’t even offensive. The standards have just moved so far these days that you can’t say anything. Programmes that were perfectly ok even 10 years ago are now considered racist. It’s hard to keep up with these ridiculous woke times
Lady Susan Hussey is 83, and she said a stupid thing at 83. She has been utterly dedicated to serving the Royal Family and this country. When/if you all reach 83, I sincerely hope you don't have your name dragged through the press for saying something offensive.

How would you know, you are white and every one resumes your British...you have never or will never be put into the same position

“No no, I was born in Britain”. How bloody hard is that response? It didn’t need to be such a massive blown out of proportion thing

Offensive is taken not given. I could take offence to your message just now. Does that make it offensive? If a single person in the world is offended by something that’s said….is it then offensive? No.

I agree, I think she was just trying to make small talk with a woman in African style dress and an African sounding name on her name badge and the other woman was being deliberately belligerent.
@ATwarriordonkey
@darrengrimes_
Exactly. She acknowledged instantly she didn’t actually originate from here and the woman saw an opportunity for small talk

Careful; the delicate right wing will get offended again. They are easily offended, vegan sausage rolls, a dance group, a naked person to name a couple of recent ones.

Yes it was. She asked her several times after the lady said she was from Hackney as if the only place a black person can come from is Africa like she was lying.
@centristjim1
@darrengrimes_
No, she was told several times by the woman that she was a British national. The old racist wouldn't accept that though and continued to interrogate her . There was nothing benign about this exchange.

It is offensive. I had similar comments made to me on numerous occasions when I was at uni (about 12 years ago). I've thought about them a lot since and I wish I was braver to call them out at the time, but I didn't feel comfortable with those comments and I was very offended.
