@BBCBreaking This absolutely screams “it’s not safe for under 30s but we can’t announce that as the confidence would drop through the floor” ... this is putting a vaccine rollout above people’s personal safety. Under 30s don’t even need a jab so if you’re going to insist, make sure it’s safe

@centristjim1 @BBCBreaking its no so much about the vaccine being any more dangerous for under-30s as much as it is about under 30s being at a lower risk from the virus, so the risk/benefit analysis for this age group is different.

@centristjim1 @BBCBreaking It says to me that there may be a link but probably not, however to keep the vaccine to out going you can now choose. I'm happy with that outcome as means I may get my 2nd dose sooner.

@centristjim1 @BBCBreaking Under 30's who have underlying health conditions do need the jab, I've had the Astrazeneca jab and I'm 27, no side effects at all. There is obviously some sort of reaction these rare cases have had, whether its health issue or combined with other medications.

@centristjim1 @BBCBreaking Its safe for the overwhelming majority of people who take it, this is a very rare event. over 20 million have had the vaccine in UK and the deaths are less than 20 This is simply changing the preference of vaccine used to take into account lowest risks from Covid for Under 30s

@centristjim1 @BBCBreaking It screams they are worried about having enough for the second dose people are waiting for & are offering alternatives for people to have their first dose for that reason

@centristjim1 @BBCBreaking It absolutely does not scream what you suggested. There is a risk with ANY drug or vaccine.

@centristjim1 @BBCBreaking Under 30s absolutely do need a jab, what makes you think they don’t?

@centristjim1 @BBCBreaking It only happened because it took the media’s attention, events like this happen in other vaccines with far more frequency in far more people. This is nothing and it means nothing, 20 people out of 20 million getting a low fatality blood clot sounds fine to me.

@centristjim1 @BBCBreaking But research says under 60s especially women, they've lowered it to only under 30s being given alternative apparently 40s-60s are worth gambling with 😡

@centristjim1 @BBCBreaking It doesn’t mean it’s not safe, it means the risk of under 30s dying from COVID is low and the potential risk of the AZ vaccine is therefore relatively higher
