Most batteries are OK in carry-on and checked bags. External battery chargers, power banks, uninstalled or spare lithium ion batteries must be packed in carry-on bags. Check for any restrictions here:

@laurakrabappel @fly_skyxe Correct. We wouldn't ask you to check or dispose of your liquid lipsticks unless the total of the liquids, aerosols and gels in your carry-on surpasses the 1 L limit. We do not know what happened in this case and will investigate once a formal complaint is filed by the passenger.
