Needs confirming but it appears a part of Great Hucklow was hit by a mini Tornado this morning. You can make out a path the 'tornado taken'. Most of the village untouched. Very isolated but severe damage and sadly many birds died in the falling trees.

Morning. The weather for Sunday. A cold day with 8 to 12cms across town. Once the roads are cleared be a good day for the sledge to come out with frozen compact snow. It is a little foggy and abandoned cars around so take extra care. Only light flurries due today. Max 0c/32f

If you don't like winter you will not like this. We haven't seen charts like this in the UK since March 2018. Very cold with blizzards and whiteout conditions for some places. We should start getting a better idea on snow next 36 hours.

Well we are looking at a prolonged spell of below average temperatures starting from today/tomorrow. Frosts and fog at night becoming an issue over the coming nights. Later next week we could start to draw winds from Scandinavia. Right now there it's ridiculously cold.

Official snow depths after this storm is probably around 15 to 18cms or around 7 inches. With so much drifting and blowing some pretty deep snow drifts in places as well. This was the heaviest fall since March 2019.

We are now just over the halfway point between the shortest day and longest day(in respect to daylight hours of course) as we have just gone past the Spring Equinox. In 3 months' time days start getting shorter again in the run up to next winter. Am trying not to think about it.

Wednesday night/Thursday morning was the coldest night for 12 years in Buxton Town centre. The Met Office weather station on the slopes recorded -8.3c. For anybody that likes a stat. Obviously it was colder still in more rural spots.

On this date 5 years ago, Buxton encountered its coldest March day in living memory as The Beast from the East arrived. A daytime max of -6c/21f A windchill temp of -16c/3f Heavy persistent snow from the East with drifts touching the top of bus stops. A real taste of winter.

The outlook is looking like remaining cold for at least a week, maybe longer. Less cold tomorrow and Monday before we go cold, or even very cold around midweek. After midweek snow chances increase. Where exactly and how much will fall, we don't know yet.

Colder air moving in now Manchester Airport, according to the vehicle I am in, the temperature has dropped 4c in the last 45 minutes. A heavier spell of rain will trigger the drop in temperature in the next hour or so for Buxton.

Nearby house after the weather event that unleashed it's wrath on parts of Stalybridge (and Tameside). My ears are still ringing like I've been to a gig! The funnel moved down our street and it was so loud that it went silent for a moment, it was weird as hell! Not my tornado!

A shock to the system coming this week as I am sure you may already know. We will be going from 16 or 17c a couple days ago to just a day time high of around 4c this Wednesday. It will feel like below freezing and Thursday morning could feel as low as -8c in the wind. Be warned.

Today Buxton reached 28.5c or 83f making it the hottest day for us so far this year. I don't think you need me to tell you currently a storm is on our doorstep as well. It's just blossomed in the past hour so. Plenty of thunder but still no rain as of 7.25pm

@DistanceCovered I can't help but think Gomez is not upto it. Positioning is not great and with TAA often up the other end of the pitch Gomez is being left isolated(not moaning at either players) but Gomez is not the presence that VVD is on the left side. That is a weakness in Liverpool
