The "tax+regulate" crowd are so eager to capitulate not knowing that that could mean that it's taxed more than tobacco by weight and less available, as in Canada.
Be careful what you wish for.
A return to

No more, no less.
Be wise,

My partners have been gathering seed from Hindu Kush hash farmers for us to clean up and distribute. The US will be flooded with a metric tonne of these classics next spring. They'll be the most affordable beans on the market, by a mile.
Stay tuned!
These aren't the best version of synthetic seeds, but still kinda funky to see.
I'll be releasing a stunning line-up with registered genetics of
@VeroSinse
certified cultivars for licensed nurseries and producers in Thailand, the EU, and the US, to start with.
#CertifiedSeedless
The cannabis industry is thousands of years old. I shudder when I hear people call it a new industry. It is probably one of the very oldest industries on the planet.
One century of prohibition does not negate the preceding millenia of commerce in cannabis.
A new hybrid I made 3 years ago and only shared with a few friends is nearly through the testing phase. If I told you the name and heritage there'd be knockoffs out before I could complete the registration. Moving in a different pattern these days. Potent mom, tasty pa.
Meanwhile, somewhere in a renowned hashish production region, my associates are gathering loads of farmer seed, and teaching locals to press rosin. Where do you think this is?
The latest selection crop I planted in February to test 100 new hybrids from seed is ready for my return. Stoked for a few weeks of picking winners.
I'm making them finish in the rainy season because I'm mean. 🤠
I'm making infertile females of every popular cultivar out there. Even the slackest operations will be able to maintain 100% seedless crops of every flavour under the rainbow, finally.
This is one example. Look Ma, no pistils. No polyploidy, no editing.
#ObligateParthenocarpy
This schwaggy-looking NLD equatorial fieldgrown was twisted into a cone that put four of us into hysterics. It tasted great, too. Looks can be deceiving!
Large scale reversion for fem pollen underway with STS. Once the stamen start to show these reversed females will pollinate a much larger greenhouse. These will then be incinerated.
Six new fem lines coming from

, selected from over 300 accessions.
Available in bulk.
Rows of low tech, unlit pollination chambers like this, beside year round test fields was long a dream of mine. The feels as the first runs progress are real. Decades of constantly improving seed should come out of these chambers.
A diverse range of West African landraces soon dropping
@StarStripesSeed
!
I'll be sowing all of them in equatorial and tropicalfields this year and I'm totally stoked.
Another weekly update from my Thai project for those following along. They're just flipped off to flower.
I'm looking forward to hosting some of you there as they are finishing in December.
Fresh new beans heading for USA distribution via
@StarStripesSeed
from a great friend/breeder in Colombia, with all the required paperwork. All cultivars tested out 30+% THC indoors.
Seventy million fem seeds, just being cleaned now.

A 10 year old picture of the one, the only, Sweet Pink Grapefruit.
This lady is definitely one of the matriarchs of modern cannabis.
Treat her right and she tastes like Ruby Red grapefruit with sugar on top.
#SPG
Despite the commute, I'm loving the vibe of the Thai project. A true family farm, not the corporate quagmire, or Wook disaster, I've seen some become.
It's so much more efficient, and pleasant. Lower costs of compliance than virtually anywhere licenses exist.

The people bragging about paying $500-$2,000/oz for the

Backyard bio

maybe $2/oz in inputs? Plus, I know it's clean.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

I kept more tops of the

than of the others. It's a nice daytime smoke. I want to finish this tonight. ✂️ I'm a slow trimmer, but I do a poor job of it as well.

NLD corner fluffing out. Not your cookies and Kush aromas. The skinny girls hit the high notes.
Most puffers today have never experienced these benchmark flavours. Pity.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
A university in India has 550 seed lines gathered from all over the country. We're going to grow them all out for characterization and preservation. I'm stoked to be included, and look forward to seeing what they hold.
I have never left
#SweetSkunk
outside this late. These lowers have frozen hard several times over the last month yet the plant held together while others melted away around it. No mildew, no mold.
Smells divine and will make some fine fresh frozen.
#PoolBud
is all down today.
A friend I hadn't seen in a few years invited me to lunch today and offered me a high end, licensed Portuguese facility on exceedingly good terms. I'm giving it serious consideration.
(The crab cakes, were fine, too!)
I've never been to Portugal but I hear that it's lovely.
If smoking untested outdoor was truly dangerous there wouldn't be any old Rastas. No old sadhus, and no seniors puffing across the traditional cannabis using world from Africa to Afghanistan to Asia.
Who else is tired of baseless

Yesterday I visited
#PureFire
, a micro in Penticton. Operated by a passionate + competent crew.
Live bud is their flagship cultivar
#Shockwave
.
The dry nug is a Shishkaberry x (God x OG Kush). They do some breeding of their own which is great to see!
With +/- 1.6 million Thais currently registered as growers the current batch might not be enough to sell them each one seed, but it should be close. This is the pollen tent, not the crop.

It's so nice to be back at the farm after 22 months. I really missed my crew! All of the new construction and equipment has everyone grinning from ear-to-ear.
This place will become an enduring institution of

A new lily bloomed yesterday. I planted it last year. Definitely an eye opener! It's big! Single bloom on the stalk. I might have to find a few more of these. I've forgotten the name of this cultivar already.
I won't support any

. Not easy to find these days! I have some, of course, but I keep trying out more while I breed (in situ) the lines I've found back to what they're supposed to be. There really is nothing else like it.
9 days off of cigarettes. I only smoked them drenched in rosin, but that was still 2 packs a week and my breathing bags weren't happy with me. Rolling a few more joints these days! Feeling better already.
I just spoke to someone that wants to grow legally and pay taxes as a micro but is prohibited because they've been busted 6 years ago.
The priority should be to license victims of prohibition before anyone else!
I had a great call with my American partners yesterday. I'm getting excited to roll out my own US-grown and branded

in every legal state, starting with NY, & AZ, immediately, then HI, OR, and OK.
The 1st SOL retail shop ever will be in Manhattan.
Just a bit stoked!
All right, fellow Canucks, we're allowed 4 plants this year so at the very least, grow 4 trees!
It's time to prep those holes for greatness!
Do it with me, at your friends and families placess, too.
Step 1: dig big holes in full sun with some privacy for 3m 🌲🌲🌲🌲

This selection had a strange pungency, and was over 31% THC.
Very, very intense! Plus, the mites hated it, and it has erect stature. For production purposes I look for plants that don't need staking. This one is getting some action! 💚

Let's all do that for anyone getting shafted by the pigs.
Let's give them more than they would have had!
Dormitory and site of my upcoming cannabis course hands-on training centre?
Dry tropical forest with a great sunset and amazing mangoes.
I looked at the place once before, but I had to come back and see the renovations. Not bad.
I can picture it with plants everywhere, can you?
This is a real breeder. Dr. Ele is one of several PhDs I employ in my gene bank. The suit is changed between visits to each pollination chamber.

A friend sent me this video of his new project in Zimbabwe. I hope that they do well!
PS, it's a good idea to keep your reservoirs outside the grow, or at least capped, to limit humidity.
Greenhouses looking good, flowers are getting better. None of the packs are making it into the expensive tourist areas. It sells very well in savvy neighborhood shops for locals on the periphery for 1/3 the big city price. Viable with efficiency!
This was a picture taken by a seed client visiting my first proper selection field in 2000.
Legal, not licensed. Legal like tomatoes. The sky didn't fall.

Blast from the past, 🇨🇭 1999.
I swear I just packed those same linen pants for this trip!
Lights were cool back then, but only when the sun wasn't getting through.
This was a mother nursery, my first international consulting gig. It inspired me to stay and set up my own project.
The selection round advances to the field.

Happy to be back with family for Christmas on the mountain.
A bit of climate shock, but I'll survive. The weather is beautiful if you're dressed for it.
I wish you all a peaceful holiday season. Cheers!
Equatorial landraces make my day.
From my personal patch at the equator...
Planted from seed in May with no supplemental light these finish by the end of December.
These ladies like to slow dance.

I always take note about which people are bitching about falling prices for herb.
Really? You do know that the only reason it was selling for thousands of dollars a pound is because it was seriously illegal, right?
Consumers deserve better value.
