”We are still fighting the idea that men are do-ers –logical, active, the “natural” commanders of the illogical, passive woman. How can a passive woman actively like anything let alone during sex–an activity that is all about men “getting” women pregnant?”

@blue_stocking @WhoresofYore Hi! I just sort of encountered the same thing, when I Google solved my preference to read and write about male/male erotica, much rather than hetero sexual romance. It came down to bypassing having to deal with the inactive, less interesting female role.

@blue_stocking @WhoresofYore Bucking the pattern, after hearing the talk in my first year of HS. Not wanting to be ignorant I did what all men do, I picked up a copy of The Joy of Sex on the way home. From it I learned that it is about the giving and receiving of joy. Totally different than making a child.

@blue_stocking I show absolutely no dissent, and I'm delighted to say that I have had (some) experience of active ladies. One current phrase has always struck me as being of extreme passivity: "I fell pregnant" "She fell pregnant" "I didn't do nuffink." "It just happened"...?
