Leaving us after 30 years is the inimitable Dr. Norris. Geography Teacher, Assistant Head, health & safety guru, FoBG, crafts supremo... Dr. Norris has worn many hats, has many talents & has worked tirelessly for the school throughout. We will miss her. Happy retirement!

So we bring this 336 year trip down memory lane to a close with our most recent event of historical note - the appointment of the school’s first female headteacher, Mrs Helen Burgum, in 2017. The first, but definitely not the last over the next 300 years.

We have had an excellent first week and have been excited to welcome our new year 7 pupils, along with year 11, 12 and 13. We are very pleased to say that our pupils have settled in well. Now we will look forward to Yr 10, 9 & 8 next week.
Year 9 had a treat today when Aldo Kalulu and Marc Guehi from

came in to talk to them about the importance of the French language in the global community and about their careers. Merci!
Swansea AFC U13 beat Norwich U13 2-0 in the semi final of the National Cup and our very own Harvey scored one of the goals!
Swansea now play Chelsea in the final.

Bishop Gore School will close to all pupils at 3pm on Friday 20th March. Updated information regarding the schools status will be posted on twitter and the school website. Parents/Carers will receive a letter shortly.
Massive congratulations to Harvey who scored a hat trick for Swansea Schools FA U12s in their 6-1 victory over Ysgolion Gwynedd Schools, a result which saw the team become Wales Schools FA champions 2020/21.

The Sixth Form team would like to congratulate Alice who successfully held her own in a Philosophical debate with an Oxford Don and gained a place on the prestigious 'PPE summer school' at Balliol College, Oxford.

A huge thank you to the very talented Miss Clarke for creating a new multilingual Signpost for our reception. Now can welcome pupils and visitors in the many languages spoken at BG! The steel was donated by Miss Clarke's father. It was part of the action research in EAL needs.
Sports day 2019: Y10 pupil, who has never entered before, broke the shot putt record/won the javelin. He was then seen giving his medals to some excited junior pupils. Former pupil - AWJ - said this year that competitive sport is about learning how to lose and win with dignity.
Category codes published today, we are pleased to announce that we have once again been categorised as a Green. Congratulations to the whole school community on this achievement.
Tom Alderman of Bishop Gore school receiving his A level results with Headteacher Mrs Helen Burgum. Tom achieved an A* in Chemistry, Maths, Physics and The Welsh Baccalaureate. Tom went to Oystermouth Primary and is going to read Chemistry at Durham University.
After a scorching May Half term-back to the new normal with the start of the second half of the summer half term. Hoping every one is still safe and well and keeping track of notices on Twitter, the web site and email. Exciting new communication development to be announced soon.
Congratulations to our newly elected Pupil Governing Body, who were presented with their badges and welcomed into their new roles by Mrs. Burgum this morning. Our chair will be Ben, our vice-chair will be Ruby, and they will be working alongside Elliot and Jess.
