As someone who recently endured the mild inconvenience at the airport, I must say that the delays are nothing compared to what I see in Ontario's Emergency Rooms - patients waiting in pain, vomiting, moaning, crying etc. Where is the outrage for long wait times in the ER?

A colleague collapsed on their shift. Another had to go home as heart rate was in the 160's. A few others have been recently diagnosed with high blood pressure, anxiety and other stress-related conditions. Unsafe workload is breaking healthworkers. We need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Part of this ER is closed - no nurses. They're scrambling to fill in sick calls so the nurses who've been working the last 12hrs can go home to their families. Yet, politicians are gaslighting people to calm down amidst a 6th wave that has spiraled out of control. Failed systems!

Patient brought to ER. Been ill but can't afford to stay home due to #precariouswork . Tests +ve for #COVID19 . Respiratory status worsens - needs an ICU bed. The govt will cover entire hospital costs which may be over 100k. #PaidSickDays wld hv been cheaper and > humane.

I really wish Twitter had an audio option to just SCREAM!!! Hospitals are calling a code orange. Patients are suffering due to a nursing shortage, yet we have Internationally Educated Nurses working at Costco, Canadian Tire, McDonald's, Tim Horton's etc. You should be livid.

Back in the ER as a patient. Woke up covered in blood. Just like many others, I feel so hurt by the healthcare system. Was denied a D&C because of the surgical backlog only to be told now (23 days later) that I may need a D&C. No miscarriage should be this traumatizing & painful!

Long Overdue Good News: The Government of Canada has announced & posted the role of a Chief Nursing Officer. This is such a great step in the right direction for nursing. Nurses must be at every table where healthcare decisions are made. Thank you PM Trudeau for listening.

It was a very hard shift. I lost my patient after 4hrs of non-stop interventions. I did not step out of the room for 4hrs - geared in full PPE, ran out of saliva, my legs could no longer hold me. My colleagues were beyond amazing - admirable team spirit, nurses taking...

3 ICU nurses were guilt-tripped into working 16hrs yesterday. They showed up for their scheduled shifts again today. This is how the healthcare system runs - on the backs of nurses who give themselves selflessly, even at the expense of their own health and family. Pay nurses!

Explain to me how a government that could afford to pay doctors $450/hr to work as nurses & divert millions of dollars to private agencies, won't prioritize paying ALL nurses decent wages & removing Bill 124 in light of a dire nursing shortage. Their ONLY goal is privatization.
