joker views their relationship similarly to a romantic one, and we see that immediately. this being one of the core elements that makes their relationship interesting it's refreshing that we're jumping into a batman and joker who already have that established.

another one of the most important parts of the batman/joker dynamic imo is how they truly understand eachother, and this scene lays the groundwork for that very well. again, joker sees through bruce and is immediately able to tell what he wants "you're not sure he's wrong..."

sure, ledger's joker was great, but he was working with an insanely uninteresting bruce. then the only time snyder's bruce and joker interacted was in an alternate(?) timeline where batman was murdering people and superman was evil.

at the end of the day this scene (and joker's other scene) really had no point to the movie and i'm glad this one didn't end up in it, but in a vacuum it lays the groundwork for an insanely interesting batman/joker dynamic that i have no doubts will top everything else we've seen

a pet peeve i have with superhero suits is when they put accents that match the primary fabric color on armored portions of the suit. it ALWAYS looks clunky because the shades will never look the same and it overcomplicates the color blocking throughout
