When I was learning to code I got very frustrated when I couldn't remember the names of functions or definitions of words like HTTP. Until one day my tech lead showed me how he searches google every 5mins while working. Don't strive to memorise. Understand and google the rest.

@bahdcoder The important thing is understanding the concept behind what you’re doing. Then you’d know how to structure your search for what you need at those times.

@bahdcoder Absolutely. And you'll only know the thing you're currently working or you've recently implemented. Not all you've ever done. It's a trend driven development...

@bahdcoder Total agree. Ive been coding for 23 years and I make a point of not memorizing coding task/syntax that can easily be looked up. Now I use Copilot and ChatGPT. But stack overflow and similar sites are great resources. In the domain of a single language there is far to much…

@bahdcoder alot of devs need to get this... Technologies one would use in a stack keep increasing and expanding so trying (and failing obviously) to memorise every won't be a smart way to deliver work

@bahdcoder What if one is given a test, won't google and the likes be regarded as plagiarism?

@bahdcoder Very true. This thought alone fueled my imposter syndrome when I started, but I just determined to understand the concept and how to solve problems. Then it started getting clearer.

@bahdcoder Talk to me sir. I'm still a novice though with basic knowledge in HTML N CSS, but When I look @ some landing page, I feel like I know the HTML elements and CSS properties to build it with. But, to start now. Na to dey crack brain up N down.

@bahdcoder True, I see most Devs forget code after they have written it. Understanding concept is the way forward.
