@rohindhar For me, it's not so much about making money, as it is having control of the home, and being able to stay or go on our schedule. If I hold for a long time, I'm likely to do a lot better than renting. But that's not why I bought the house.

@ctvedmonton The vaccine doesn't appear to affect infection rate at all. So calling for segregation is both foolish and immoral IMO. E.g. in MB, vaccinated cases are actually higher than the proportion of people who have it.

@_Just_Joe_ @Steve_Byra @gator_gum @Milhouse_Van_Ho The fact of the matter is, whenever you do one of the above activities, you need to show your pass. That act, is asking permission. For now, the answer is yes. But that doesn't change the fact that you have to ask permission to do things you previously did not.

There are very few tax advantages to incorporating. Most people think you can just write off a ton of things. In order to claim something, it must be directly tied to the generation of active business income. You don't create a corp and can suddenly claim 100% of your car

@CTVLondon The recent data clearly shows no effect on transmission. Therefore, the only use of vaccine passports is to take rights away from people until they capitulate. I believe this is the intent in some jurisdictions, but perhaps not SK, based on these comments.

@TheTaxHeroes I don't think I'd say they're getting aggressive on crypto. What I think is more accurate is that there is still a disconnect between how exchanges give out this information and what tax authorities are looking for. Likely, they both need to come a little closer to each other.

@OutdoorFinance It's a fine idea. However: 1. Buying through Robinhood won't give you any actual experience with BTC. There's a lot more to it than the number. 2. Until you can differential between BTC and crypto, you're at risk of chasing something shiny and winding up in a pump and dump.

@ONT_Dad The only taxes that go up as you take more from society are the consumption taxes (GST/PST). Income taxes are levied on those who produce more. If you produce more than before, your taxes go up. Also, I'm referring to tax rules changes in here as well (TOSI rules, AMT, etc.)

@AdultingIsEasy Kind of... The amount of rent that can be charged is driven by the market, not the owners expenses. The renters market doesn't care what your mortgage/taxes are. However, the owner wouldn't have jumped in if the rent didn't cover the expenses (or at least shouldn't have).
