My biggest reason to decline "talks" at colleges is that the convenors (almost) never have a good topic - same usual stuff. What are some topics that are worthwhile to talk to students about?

@amodm Good topics are so hard that i almost always turn down speaker opps. QnA or nothing. Usually those ensure that the time spent is worth it.

@tarunsmehta That's what I end up falling back to, but in my case at least, I find it also limits the quality of questions. I'd guess > 50% of the questions are usual stuff. OTOH, when primed with something radical, quality of Q&A shoots up.

@amodm Have 2-3 topics as options. Start with a Q & A session. Based on the queries coming in, decide your topic or just continue with Q & A session.

@intrepidkarthi That's the technique part (still useful), but was looking to gather ideas on the topics.

@amodm How to handle failures & how to bounce back Lot of students will have set back, Visa rejections, not getting jobs what they wanted, relationships etc Though most will eventually bounce back, thoughtful frameworks from folks like u will help the bounce back quicker

@abhymurarka Good topic. But a lot of people talk about it already, and better than what I can.

@amuldotexe Useful topic I think, but I'm worried of the rendition being too prescriptive.
