Think of it as a promotional tweet, but-couldn't resist writing this. This saree that I am wearing, is a #handwoven saree, weaved by weavers from my home-town, #Yemmiganur . From the silk procured from karnataka, these sarees have a signature style of temple borders.

#Latepost Last month, I visited the city of Agra and Fatehpur Sikri. Here is a thread on Sikandra Sikandra- Akbar's tomb. This place was also named as 'Bahistabad'. Akbar has planned this and the work of it began during his reign which later Jahangir finished.

As a woman, seeing the clips where rape CONVICTS are felicitated and feted, it makes me feel sick, sad and depressed. How as a society we have failed to understand the trauma #BilkisBano and many like her had gone through? It is a reversal and undoing of her long struggle.

The Sikandra tomb is also an example of syncretism, as this chhatri (drawn from Rajput architecture) a mixture of Indian and Islamic architecture, made of Red Sandstone, the major constituent of Mughal Architecture.

Demise of K. Vishwanath Garu is so sad and is a big loss to the Telugu industry. His movies were revolutionary, touching upon socio-economic aspects, addressing caste and gender issues. Swatimutyam, Shankarabharam, sirivennala, Sagara sanghamam are few of my favourites.

Time for some more interesting trivia. As I said earlier this place has interesting experimentation with acoustics. Around the tomb, there is a gallery. It was incredible to see how whispers at one corner can be heard so clearly on the corner diagonally.
