The thing with Jack is that when he meets kids, he almost always lowers himself to eye level. I love that about him. When he met my nephews and niece (6 and younger) he got right down on his knees to talk to them. Something like that makes a big difference to little kids.

Jack Hughes just signed the Devils pennant of a boy who was probably 8-10 years old and he went running to his Mom, beaming with pride and excitement. It’s the little things. Have noticed Jack is always great with young fans.

Nico and I chatted about starting together in 2017 and I've been alongside for every minute. It's a special thing for me. He said it goes by fast but also marveled at players who have played 1,000+ games. Not even halfway there yet! One of the best you'll ever meet.

Lovely tidbit from Curtis Lazar... I asked him if he was staying in NJ this summer, which he is, and explained partly why: He said that he has rented out his house in Kelowna to a family that lost their home in the awful Kelowna fires last summer. So he's an NJ local now!
