The prayer that changed my life.
Fr Dolindo Ruotolo - Padre Pio’s spiritual director - had a vision of Jesus speaking to him. Here’s what He said:
*shortened a bit for this post*
“Why do you confuse yourselves by worrying? Leave the care of your affairs to me and everything
In case you missed it! For the first time ever during the Super Bowl, we all got to take 30 seconds to give thanks to God.
Was an honor to get to pray together.
Glory to God.
Crazy story:
Was approach by a woman, a nurse, who told me this story in tears this weekend.
She was in the operating room.
There was a 17 year old kid brought in with multiple gunshot wounds. The medical team scrambling to save his life. His mom was standing by in the
My hero of a wife gave birth to our 3rd little kiddo yesterday. August Walter Jones after St. Augustine and Fr Ciszek.
Honestly…was a pretty tough birth.
During recovery there was a moment we were both getting particularly frustrated.
And then a random woman walked in. Not
Today’s Gospel is the reason Hallow exists.
So a story:
We started working on Hallow but quickly realized we needed money.
We drained our 401k (wouldn’t recommend doing at 25), maxed out our credit cards, but we’re quickly running out.
So we decided to go try and raise some
Saying a rosary next to my 3 yr old tonight. She says ‘Dad, did you hear that voice?’
‘No honey, what did you hear?’
‘It was just a whisper’
‘Who was it?’
‘I know who it was Dad. It was Mary.’
Man. Can’t beat fatherhood.
Officially the biggest spike in Hallow history.
More downloads in a single minute than ever before. Already ranking ahead of Netflix.
And Lent hasn’t even started yet.
Glory to God.
Can’t wait to pray together!
Last Ash Wednesday was our biggest day in the history of Hallow by far. By 6am we were
#3
in the App Store charts, the highest any faith based or meditation app had ever been.
Then it crashed.
Just went blank.
Hundreds of thousands of people trying to open it to pray and
From my spiritual director: ‘You have to do 3 things every day:
20 minutes in silence
Daily Mass
And a Rosary
Everything else flows from that. Make them non-negotiable.’
Changed my life
One of my favorite stories we heard from last year:
‘I am a young married mother of 3 little girls, but had been, for the last several years, addicted to drugs and alcohol and involved in a long standing affair.
My husband found out. Left me. And took the kids.
I was broken
When I posted my routine a good chunk of folks asked how I find time to go to daily Mass.
Good example today.
I stayed up late for the Lent launch. Woke up and had to run to catch a flight.
Didn’t think I’d be able to find a Mass. There’s not a lot in the afternoon near me and
Had a friend of mine tell me before I had kids: ‘Fatherhood will be the best theology lesson you’ll ever have’
‘How so?’
‘Well, you’ll love these kids more than you could ever have imagined.
Not because of anything they did. Just for who they are.
You’ll give anything for
A young woman wrote into us a few weeks ago:
“Hey I just wanted to let you know I don’t think I’d be standing here alive if it wasn’t for you…
for the grace that God gave me through you guys”
So I gave her a call and asked if she could share her story. I was blown away.
She
St Teresa was the first person’s books I read after coming back to the faith.
She immediately became the Patron saint of Hallow.
Then for our first fundraise - our seed round - we planned to close it on a Friday, but it got pushed cause it was running late to the following
The body of St. Teresa of Avila, who died five centuries ago, has been found incorrupt, according to the Diocese of Avila. The tomb of Saint Teresa was opened, and her body was found in the same condition as during the last opening in 1914, the Discalced Carmelites were quoted as
When we first started Hallow I didn’t think it was gonna go anywhere.
We were funding it just off of our drained 401k’s and credit cards and were running out pretty quickly.
So we did our seed round. It was the first time I’d ever fundraised. I was shocked by how stressful it
Glory be to God

I started out with the Rosary - praying it every night. Its like God was talking to me.
I've also purchased this subscription. I have my daily prayer I pray on here every morning for 30 minutes.

People often ask is Hallow a for-profit or non-profit?
Well the answer isn’t what most folks think:
When we first built Hallow we built it just for ourselves. I had discovered contemplative and meditative prayer and it brought me back to my faith + I loved the idea and
This is going to be an amazing evangelisation!

Last night during labor with our 3rd I started praying a rosary.
My wife “Hey let’s do one together.
But…can you not lead it?
Can we do it with Hallow?
And not Mark. He’ll stress me out.
Let’s do Anna”
Gotta love having someone on your team do a better job helping your
There are only two times in scripture that Jesus loses followers.
Most of the time everyone flocks to him. People in need of healing. People in search of his fame. People looking for wisdom.
But two times they leave Him. Two times His message is too much for them.
The first
“I don’t remember a time when people needed Christ more than right now.”

Great talk with tonight! Pumped for the rest of the summit this weekend.
“Jesus I surrender myself to you, take care of everything.”
Why do we partner with celebrities?
Why not just priests and nuns?

A few years ago a woman wrote into us. She was a young married mom of 3 little girls.
She had become involved in a longstanding affair with a man from work and developed an addiction to alcohol and
Was just asked what our 5 year growth rate was so we looked it up.
It’s 100x.
100 times larger than 5 years ago.
Insanity.
God wasn’t kidding. He yields 100 fold what is sown.

A note from a user: “Last night my son (almost 2) and I listened to a few prayers on

'More Jesus'
Here's to more Jesus.”
When we wrote the first meditation for Hallow - Francis, our main guide at the time, had a comment:
“Alex, what if someone prays with this who’s blind? We should probably do a better job of describing the imaginative environment.”
I honestly laughed at him at the time. There
“I hate Hallow. I shouldn’t need to pay to pray”
Something we get a lot.
Almost always from folks who have never tried the app.
But why do we have a subscription? Why not just make the app free?
Well - a few things:
1 - you don’t need to pay to pray. You don’t need an app to
Yesterday I took my two oldest little toddlers to Mass to give my wife a little alone time with our newborn.
Always a bit stressful to chase around two kids while trying to pray.
We received the Blessed Sacrament and then headed to the back, where there was a statue of Jesus.
I fell away from my faith.
But I’d gotten pretty into meditation.
The weirdest thing kept happening though…every time I’d meditate - every time I’d stop distracting myself with social media or Netflix or work or worry - every time I’d just sit for a bit in silence…
My mind
Well, God did something pretty incredible yesterday. For the first time in history - a faith based app cracked the top 10 in the App Store, beating TikTok, IG, Spotify, Netflix, and so many more.
What an incredible blessing it is to see so many folks gathered together in faith.
@alexathallow
I started praying daily with Hallow two years ago. Last week I began the process of coming back into full communion with the Catholic Church. Thank you.
God has a pretty incredible way of working.
We’d planned to launch a challenge on JPII today several months ago and chose today as the launch date. It dives deep into his life esp. his survived assassination attempt.

every morning while getting ready for the day. It’s a beautiful resource always, but today’s story is going to stay with me for a long, long time.
Jesus, I surrender myself to you. Take care of everything. Amen.
When we first started Hallow we built it originally really just for me.
I really wanted to dive deeper into this world of contemplative and meditative prayer I just discovered.
But we had a few friends and family also try out the first version. Just a dozen or so people.

You know how the Alexander Hamilton musical concludes with his wife, Eliza Schuyler, founding an orphanage?
Guess who worked with her to do that?
Elizabeth Ann Seton.
The first American saint.
Gotta love how many popular stories of our time are actually just stories of
A lot of people tell me I should go by a different name. When we first started Hallow I signed all of our emails from Alex Jones.
50% loved it “I had no idea Alex Jones was Catholic!”
And the other half hated it.
Led to a lot of emails. But I realized something pretty cool
Recently, I made the decision to go home. There is of course so much more that went into this decision and that I plan to share in the future.
But for now, praise be to God for His gentle, but relentless guiding of my heart toward Truth.

Would you please pass a message to Sister Bernice? I am not Catholic yet I have joined the Pray40. I have been most affected by her. She is an inspiration. Her voice is so comforting. I could listen to every day. My heart is filled with joy & thankfulness.
@Jaizem
I have been doing the 40 day Hallow app. Friend of mine turned me on to it a little over a week ago. I am not Catholic, but the meditations, prayers and teachings have been quite good
"The culture of lay leadership has arguably taken root in the U.S. more than anywhere else. And it continues to inspire everyday Catholics."

We stand unequivocally with the Church in its fight for life.
At the same time, our goal at Hallow is to do everything we can to help God reach out to those who have most fallen away, as I had.

My 1 year old son while I'm working on my laptop tonight. 'Work?'
'Dada? Working?'
'Yeah son, I'm working.'
'Press buttons dada?'
'Yeah son, I'm just pressing buttons.'
Really puts it all in perspective. Just here pressing buttons.
When I was coming back to my faith I had a call with a priest: ‘Well Alex, have you tried praying?’
‘Yeah of course. The whole thanks for stuff, sorry for stuff, help me with stuff thing. Or the ones I’d memorized as a kid, but I don’t know - they always just feel like I’m

I was one of your Super Bowl downloads and I've used it every day since then, through Lent and now Easter. I cannot imagine going back.
Last night I discovered your Latin Rosary. Another step I never wish to come back from. Thank you. ❤️🙏❤️
