9 songs for the defiant outsiders of the ugly-beautiful world we've fallen into. Buy a copy if you can, but please listen for free if you can't.
The girl who murdered Brianna is going to a women's prison - an extremely dangerous psychopath to be housed with vulnerable women.
Transphobes have nothing to say about it, of course, because their issue has never been the safety of women - they just hate trans people.
Let's extend the GRA to include cis people. No one gets to be legally male or female until:
1. Aged 18
2. Lived "in role" for 2 years.
3. Have confirmation of gender ID from specialist psych.
4. Have submitted application to a panel of people who don't know them.
Fair's fair.
How it should be:
Patient: "I'm trans and I would like an hormone prescription please."
Doctor: "Certainly. Here you go. We'll also do some blood tests to make sure you get the right dose. Do you need any associated surgeries? If so, I'll get you on the waiting list."

All the

people saying Daniel Radcliffe should never criticise Rowling cos she helped his career, really need to read up on Harvey Weinstein.
Dear trans Twitter, sorry to have to tell you this, but I have it on good authority from Mumsnet, that we are also responsible for the climate crisis.
I would therefore like to apologise to cis people everywhere - I honestly wasn't intending to cause a mass extinction event.
How to spot a transphobe:
They're worried that peer-pressure is making cis kids think they're trans, but they aren't worried that peer-pressure is making trans kids think they're cis.
How to spot a transphobe:
They call a trans girl a "son" because biology is important, but they call an adopted girl a "daughter" because biology is not important.
After discussing it with my wife, we've decided that it's just too dangerous for trans people in the UK right now for me to continue wearing my trans pride badge.
I'm lucky that I pass well enough to blend in, but I fear for any of my trans siblings who don't have that luxury.
Patient: "I'm not sure yet, doctor, but I'll let you know."
Doctor: "That's fine. Here's a leaflet on the expected effects of the hormones. Any problems or unusual symptoms, just pop back to see me."
Patient: "Okay, thanks, doctor. Bye now."

Dear cis allies, I just wanted to say 2 things:
1. Thank you so much for your support in these dark times.
2. Please keep going - we are so few in number, and we can only be safe if enough cis people stand beside us.
This "trans means lifelong medication" thing - I rub a bit of estrogel onto my thigh in the morning and again before bed.
It's no more time-consuming or traumatic than moisturising my face.
I keep thinking of a trans woman on a hospital ward, facing major surgery, or chemotherapy, frightened, lonely, and then being told to "Go away, you're not welcome here - we don't want you."
I just feel so sad about it 💔
The real concern transphobes have about puberty blockers, is that they make your transness invisible - it's difficult to bully and oppress a group of people if you can't see them.
Can someone just clarify - is JK Rowling complaining about her house being posted online by the papers, or by tourist guides, or by Wikipedia, or becase it's in the background of a trans person's picture?
Well, this is my 20th year on estrogen. Could any transphobes please let me know when I should expect my regret and detransition?
I mean, you did promise it was coming, but I still haven't seen any sign of it.
@josephjames94
Solidarity JJ. You've done the right thing - this gets JK "free speech" Rowling's lawyers off your back, but the LGBT community still know exactly what the truth is.
@VickyMiller74
So, there's a particularly vulnerable student, who is likely to be at risk of self-harm and bullying, and your plan is to make their life a little bit harder?
Aren't you lovely.
That's right, transphobes - if you can keep prisoners safe from a dangerous cis woman, you can keep them safe from a dangerous trans woman.
Your safety argument for trans exclusion is therefore empty.
@jessphillips
Dear Jess, thank you so much for remembering Brianna Ghey. 🧡💛💚💜💚💛🧡
The putrid transphobia in the comments is exactly the reason it was important to do so.
Joanna Cherry says in the Times today:
"What I and many others do not support is self-identification of sex for anyone..."
I think this is great - don't let anyone, even cis people self-identify their sex.
Fair's fair.
@Twosidesofacoin
It's simply the observation that people feel distress about having physical characteristics of the opposite sex to the one they perceive themselves to be. Cis men seek to have breast tissue removed for exactly the same reason as trans men. Ditto facial hair for cis & trans women.
@tash_om
I don't know - I take the point of the thread and every point is valid, but personally, I'm all about the intent. If someone is trying to be supportive, I don't really care how clumsy and poorly thought throught their actual words are.
As a trans woman, I just want to say a humble thank you to everyone tweeting
#CisWithTheT
Yesterday was just awful, but you've made today beautiful.
❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Following Allison Bailey's logic through, boys need to be given estrogen or they will never know the erotic possibility of having their breasts fondled.
How to spot a transphobe:
They want to make sure that no cis girl suffers the unwanted effects of testosterone, but they also want to make sure that every trans girl does.
#InternationalWomensDay
is a good day to post a photo of a woman - me - who just happens to be trans, womaning around and having a life while not hurting anyone else.
#TransWomenareWomen
and most cis women who are friends to trans women don't care about "biological" arguments - to them their trans friend is a woman in every practical sense, and they interact with her in exactly the same what they do their cis friends.
This post isn't about age - I'm easily as old as many of the people in this picture. It's about people from privileged demographics coming together to oppress a tiny, vulnerable minority.
Dear JK Rowling and assorted transphobes:
If you believe that women can't rape because the "legal" definition of rape requires a penis, then you also believe that no woman was raped by her husband before 2003 because rape didn't "legally" exist in marriage until then.
@jk_rowling
Just watch what Grahame said, then read Rowling's post, and that will tell you everything you need to know about what transphobia does to your mind.
One of the most sensible takes on ‘cancel culture’ I’ve seen. Sensible, honest, smart. I’m posting the video directly as Times Radio tweeted it with a clickbait and somewhat misleading headline that unintentionally confirmed his point. More of this please.
Dear transphobes, if you believe that women can't rape because the "legal" definition of rape requires a penis, then you also believe that no woman was raped by her husband before 1991 because rape didn't "legally" exist in marriage until then.
#IStandWithLesbians
, including the ones who were sexually assaulted by the cis woman that the transphobes put forward to speak for them in the BBC article:
@BigBillMoon
So, one group campaigns to block the recommended medical treatment for a small number of vulnerable kids, and the other group is some of those kids telling them to fuck off. Not quite sure why you're confused.
I think the reason that transphobes are so enraged by this beautiful moment, is that they have spent so much time trying to convince people that trans women's breasts are somehow not "real" breasts.
Reality has a liberal bias.
Glinner says all books by trans authors are "universally panned", so I'd just like to point out that my novel has a rating on Amazon of 4.6 - same as Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel which won the Booker Prize 😘
Dear trans people, I just want to thank you all for the "chilling effect" you've had on free speech. I no longer see any transphobia at all in the media, or on Twitter.
Well done us.
@jk_rowling
@gameonterfs
Hmm, 2 followers, an account that was only opened in November 2022, and a profile picture designed to give transphobes ammunition. This smells like a transphobe's sock account.
The
#IStandWithKeiraBell
people in a nutshell:
They want to make sure that no cis girl suffers the unwanted effects of testosterone, but they also want to make sure that every trans girl does.
We call that
#transphobia
Transphobes keep saying that a straight man would be justifiably disgusted to find out he'd had sex with a trans woman cos "trans women are men" and it would therefore be "gay sex"
Thing is, when you keep telling people that gay sex is disgusting, bad things happen to gay people
If you're not trans, you're "cis".
If you're not gay, you're "straight".
If you're not intersex, you're "endosex".
If you're not neurodivergent, you're "neurotypical".
If the only one of these words you object to is "cis", then you're also a "transphobe".
This is brilliant:
So, shero Patsy Stevenson was pinned to the ground by the police at the Sarah Everard vigil, but because Patsy is trans-inclusive, the terverts think trans people set the whole thing up just so she could say "trans women and cis women" on telly 🤪
"We do use our real faces, quite often actually, and without filters, too. Heres mine. I, alongside almost every trans person doesn’t look like your stupid wojak caricature."
Promote the eradication of trans people on Twitter? No problem, but call a transphobe a cunt, and get your account locked for 12 hours for hateful conduct.
I am a trans woman.
Feel free to try to convince me I am not female, but do be aware that people have been trying to do that literally since I was born, and with no success whatsoever.
