When I was a junior doctor we rated our teachers not by their impact factors or research prowess but by their teaching skills and clinical acumen. You cant leave medical training to educationalists and scientists who have never cared for patients

I totally agree with you, Dr. Lees! Caring for patients is nowadays relegated to the background! Today we’re facing the technology age in neurology!

Of course there are many exceptions but when it comes to writing a grant or getting a paper out teaching goes out of the window because it is not accredited by chairmen and deans to the same level. There needs to be a rebalancing urgently
