There have been a few occasions where I have suspected Parkinson's disease and then not confirmed it on follow up visit.I believe stress can unmask motor signs which disappear. If you have the slightest doubt about the diagnosis hold back,do nothing & review in 6 months @basbloem

@ajlees I wholeheartedly agree with my great mentor @ajlees - when in doubt, don’t perform an expensive scan, but trust your clinical judgement in six months. #Parkinson remains a clinically based diagnosis. An abnormal scan in the presence of clinical uncertainty doesn’t change that.

@basbloem In the UK, particularly in the private department stores, rewards are given to the company’s medical ‘ salespeople’ for ordering DAT and MR scans. This is indefensible overinvestigation and soul less medicine

@ajlees @basbloem That’s a very interesting comment because when is Parkinson’s not Parkinson’s? A deep routed traumatic experience that shows all the classic signs of Parkinsonism but is stress related?
