y’all are really THAT homophobic & transphobic that you will take your kids OUT OF SCHOOL just so they can’t learn that lgbt people exist 😭you do realize they will eventually meet a gay person and/or trans person in their lifetime? and they might end up being lgbt themselves?
one of my favorite new pieces of dialogue from this episode was joel saying “well she was a lot more girly… and i’m not saying that you’re not girly” and ellie immediately going “i’m not.” 😭
saying gamers have been “gatekeeping” video games is crazy… because we’ve BEEN saying some of the best stories ever have been told through video games, but non-gamers have never taken video games as an art medium seriously.
bella ramsey will play ellie for all of the seasons to come btw. there is no point posting your “older ellie casting” because bella Is ellie and will continue to be ellie for when they adapt tlou2.
if episode 6 ends how i think it will (joel falling off the horse & ellie trying to get him up & it fading to black) we are going to have a Lot of people accidentally spoiling themselves when they search “does joel die in tlou”
bella played being a young lesbian with a massive crush on your best friend and being awful at hiding it SO WELL. like all of the scenes of ellie staring at riley all in love ☹️
i really really hope we get this scene next episode ☹️ having tommy realize how important ellie clearly is to joel & why he’s so desperate to have someone else take her☹️☹️ i need it
‘RED WHITE AND ROYAL BLUE’ is so identical to the novel that it skips over the most important part of an adaption; strengthening and fleshing out the material.

i was so scared going into this episode that they would try to make david redeemable or try to make you sympathize with him and i’m SO relieved that they didn’t. they made him Worse actually and more outright evil in a way that it’s no longer up for interpretation
this is why the whole “gay actors must play gay characters” is always a bit odd to me because it forces people to out themselves and is just unnecessary especially when talking about young teens
