What does building a personal brand mean to you?
Something is not quite right.
For the last 6 months, I've been praising everywhere the positive impact of Twitter, especially when you make the transition:
Passive Scroller → Active Creator
And I get it, the whole narrative
“Money Twitter” has run out of money.
I’m going to say it,
“Money Twitter” is a Ponzi scheme.
Grow an audience
Create a newsletter
Sell a digital product
Sounds reasonable in theory, but in practice is just people talking about how to grow on Twitter.
It has no more depth.
Good morning,
Yesterday I had my first tweet going 'viral'.
+ 250 new followers
+ 268 bookmarks
+ 90.1k views
On top of that, Dan Koe replied to the tweet.
You'll think I must be over-excited.
But not really.
I'm aware this is the
There are two types of people:
Those who tell ChatGPT what they need
Those who ask ChatGPT "Can you please give me..."
Because being efficient doesn't mean you have to be rude to the AI, right?
If you’re in your 20s or even 30s.
You have one mission.
Forgive your parents.
They did their best.
Your resentment is not helping anyone.
Take ownership and move on.
The solution.
The Japanese concept Shu-Ha-Ri.
The 3 learning stages.
Shu → "Obey"
Learn the fundamentals.
At this stage, the student follows the teacher's instructions, WITHOUT QUESTION. Coping faithfully. Doing this for a long period of time.
Zero followers.
We only have 30 minutes a day to build a Twitter audience.
That's the challenge.
So we have to be strategic:
You can’t write daily essays or tweet 10 times a day. Takes too long.
Instead, we’ll focus on the 3 areas that bring the highest ROI:
To truly master something,
You must know the fundamentals, then break away and innovate, and finally transcend above and beyond the rules and limitations.
Good Morning,
Imagine planting a seed and being upset an hour later because it didn't turn into a tree.
A lot of builders do that.
Be patient. Stay consistent.
A personal brand isn't just social media followers.
Is the way you treat the waiter in a restaurant.
Is how your friends talk about you when you are not there.
Is the feeling you leave after having a talk with someone.
Take care of your online and offline personal brand.
The second stage is,
Ha → "Break Away"
Developing our own style.
This is where we start experimenting with new ideas and innovating. Combining new concepts and adding to the fundamentals already learned in the Shu stage.
Finally,
Ri → "Transcend"
Developing our own style.
Now having mastered our own style to such a degree that we're no longer bound by its rules and principles, we transcend and develop something entirely unique.
Good morning,
Yes, the Twitter algorithm has been publicly published and updated.
People will now obsess over:
Follower/Ratio
Ranks of the account
Getting retweets
I don't care.
I'm not here to build an audience.
I'm here to build connections.
I'll follow creators no matter
The problem.
He is so good at productizing his knowledge and distributing his methods.
That everyone looks the same.
Same profile picture.
Same bio description.
Same tweet structure.
I had over 17 calls with people from Twitter in the last few weeks.
I learned one thing.
The most amazing, wise, creative, genuine, and even wealthy individuals are behind a profile with probably 264 followers.
Never judge anyone by their profile.
All this influence and algorithm efforts create a feedback loop where all the profiles and content look the same for you.
And, you think that kind of content is the only one that performs well.
Discouraging you from creating original and authentic content.
DESTROY
THE
IDEA
THAT YOU HAVE TO BE CONSTANTLY WORKING OR GRINDING IN ORDER
TO BE SUCCESSFUL.
EMBRACE THE CONCEPT THAT
REST,
RECOVERY,
REFLECTION,
ARE ESSENTIAL PARTS OF PROGRESS
TOWARDS
A SUCCESSFUL
AND
FULFILLED
LIFE.
On top of it.
One of Twitter’s recent algorithm features is embedding influence circles, called SimClusters
Twitter shows you content and profiles anchored by a cluster of influential users by setting a custom matrix factorization algorithm.
I’m sorry but tweeting for 2 days doesn’t build an audience.
Going to the gym for 2 days doesn’t build muscle.
You need to stay consistent for longer.
I wish we lived in a world of instant results.
But we don’t.
If you are in your teens, 20s, or even 30s.
But, you have no idea what to do in life.
Focus on setting a good foundation.
Physically.
Mentally.
Digitally.
Build your body, acquire knowledge, and create your personal brand.
These are timeless assets.
Good morning,
Your competition isn't other people.
Your competition is your procrastination. Your ego. The unhealthy food you're consuming, the knowledge you neglect. The negative behavior you're nurturing & your lack of clarity.
Compete against that.
Before all of Dan's fanboys come my way.
First, I respect and admire what Dan is doing giving exposure to the creator economy opportunity, and the potential of Twitter.
Second, I started taking Twitter seriously thanks to him, and for this reason, I'll be forever grateful.
Take it easy on yourself.
Some days will feel like no-progress.
And that’s okay, remember, you’re here for the long run.
Keep putting the reps.
Trust the compounding effect.
Quitting is not an option, failures, mistakes and bad days are part of the process.
Be grateful.
If you want to build something.
A project,
A podcast,
A business,
Write a book,
A community,
Jump into stages,
Whatever it is, if you have that drive, and you are starting out.
You have a huge advantage.
Fall in love with your life.
wake up early
stretch
connect with your mind
be kind to yourself in the mirror
wear an outfit that makes you feel good
get that coffee
go for the walk
spend time working on your passion
move your body
eat your favorite food
practice positive
Befriend the wise, not the popular.
Surround yourself with people of great perspective & awareness, who can help you navigate the traps of this game called life, not people who give you clout.
Entrepreneurs flex
Rolex.
Luxury cars.
Villas and skyscrapers.
Startup valuations.
Solopreneurs flex
Empty schedules.
Passion projects.
Time for friends and family.
Personal funds.
Time is not a scarce resource.
I have 24h.
You have 24h.
Everyone on this planet has 24h.
You can use the 24h.
You can waste the 24h.
If not time?
What is the scarcest resource then?
Focus.
This is the final stage everyone aspires to get to but few achieve.
Why?
They either skip steps 1 and 2 or get stuck in 1.
If you observe everything is a remix concept of copy, transform, and combine.
I couldn't figure out why I keep learning more and more, but accomplish less and less.
I thought it was a lack of focus, but it was actually a lack of clarity.
I wanted to apply all my knowledge to everything and, without a direction, end up accomplishing nothing.
I struggled to make money online.
I tried,
e-commerce
design agency
stocks trading
Nothing lasted.
It wasn't that I didn't understand the concept or saw the potential.
I even bought courses.
It was that I didn't enjoy the process.
I was just looking for a financial reward.
Fun Twitter statistics.
93.6% have less than 100 followers
1.35% have more than 500 followers
0.68% have more than 1,000 followers.
366 people have more than 1M followers.
Good morning,
I wasn’t happy. I was actually almost sad and angry out of frustration.
I felt stuck and 0 motivated. To the point I was burned out and I quit.
This was 4 months ago…
Today I realized I overcome it. I wake up this morning feeling energized, excited for the day.
Honestly, is so easy to stand out here on Twitter.
Everyone is running their 'Personal Brand' with ghostwriters or AI.
To the point writing tweets yourself, from your ideas, based on your unique perspective of the world looks so different.
Be authentic.
I used to want everything to happen fast, almost immediately as if I was late in life.
Nowadays I appreciate that things take time, and I enjoy each of the stages of life.
Don’t rush your life too much, it might come true and you realize you lived too fast when it’s too late.
Fill your brain in the afternoons with books, learning, and socialization.
Empty your brain before bed with journaling, planning, and meditation.
Use your brain in the morning with creation, output, and focus.
I don’t know who needs to hear it, but...
Success isn't guaranteed.
Watching motivational YouTube.
Scrolling Twitter money for hours.
Purchasing Courses and Programs.
It's still entertainment if you don't apply.
Don't fall into the trap of becoming a wise fool.
Take action.
Elon Musk has 133M followers.
Tesla has 19.7M followers.
SpaceX has 28.6M followers.
Even
Twitter 'only' has 65.6M followers.
Personal Brand = 133M
All his Company Brands = 113,9M
If this doesn't show you the power of Personal Brand > Company Brand
I don't know what will.
Good morning,
Your competition isn't other people.
Your competition is your procrastination. Your ego. The unhealthy food you're consuming, the knowledge you neglect. The negative behavior you're nurturing & your lack of creativity.
Compete against that.
Good morning,
Whatever your brain gets first dopamine in the morning, will continue to seek that activity for the rest of the day.
Choose intentionally.
Good morning,
I've always said it.
connections > followers
I crossed the 800 follower count,
But you know what I'm more excited about?
My Twitter circle.
Can you spot yourself?
