While I was asleep Lethal Company passed 100,000 concurrent players. Unbelievable, thank you for playing. Releasing updates for this game will be very fun.
Oh look at that, 30% off!
I'm distracted by my life right now, but I have Version 50 slowly cooking. I could release it now, but I want it to be really substantial. I'm starting to think it may be better for all updates to be bigger and less frequent
I added something into the game because it's funny, but then I saw the opportunity to make it an entire thing. So that's what the next couple days are gonna be spent with
This virtual hamster believes we will win the Game Of The Year award on Steam in 2 hours. If we don't, so help me, I will destroy him. no buts about it
The Palworld panic feels like a bunch of kids were having fun until they sent a baseball through the window of that one grumpy old man's house at the end of the street
What are your ideas for traps with a level of versatility (changing the way you traverse the environment, no matter where you are)? I've thought about this for a long time and have only come up with a couple ideas which weren't like reskinned landmines and turrets.
Been weeks since I started planning for it, but I just noticed the next enemy is seasonal! I wanted them to be in the game at release
And no, these ones will not be "creatures" as I refer to the rest. These are Enemies. Antagonists. Combatants. Foes. Enjoy this pre-invasion time
I have always been slightly bored by the normal pixel art style that uses stiff sprite cutouts (especially when they don't fit with the pixel grid), and this makes me realize why
Splatoon 3 should have made its splatfests into a tournament-like format: the team in last place gets eliminated in halftime, then those players get to choose another team.
It'd be dramatic, and it would fix some issues. Plus, 1v1v1 feels strangely impersonal compared to 1v1
hey, friend
@cloudious77
asked for a shout-out on here! He is looking for voice acting jobs and is the one who voiced Lethal Company's trailer. Does a youtube as well. (Also built me a computer in 2018 for my birthday, which is the one I still use)
My GOTY is RE4. Never played the original. Whole experience felt like a rail shooter but in only the best ways (and I had this thought before I got to the mine.) That's a rare compliment for games of this era. Thank goodness Steam input is a thing so I could use motion controls
Now it sounds like I'm totally overhyping Ouu-59 because I was playing on my beta version of the game in which it was WAY worse, taking place on Titan with an instant jester and coilhead. You're lucky actually. For now
Here is a collection of those poems I've been writing since late 2020, some of which I've posted here before. I'm pretty positive at this point there's no more additions I'm going to make to it. Despite many, many poems being cut, these 5 have survived
So the old Fortnite map with building and without the distracting roguelike pop-ups and NPC's and general power-creep actually IS almost as fun as I remember. It's strange because I see Fortnite as a game that NEVER looks back, no matter what.
The reaction to Lethal Company has been crazy. Makes me want to go into a mad rush to get more updates out or fix all the bugs, but I know better. Gotta sleep
I love the new Fortnite map which feels made for the old-fashioned spy thriller/conspiracy theme, because it dawned on me as I explored. As opposed to an average map being littered with distracting buildings and mechanics that beat me over the head with a theme (Cough, Ch.2 S2)
@audaki_ra
The game actually used to have HRTF (using Steam Audio), but it cut the performance in half, so I eventually took it out. Now it just uses Unity's default reverb filter globally. Some audios have their own reverb filters attached, and I set their 'dry level' based on distance
#Unity
still has said nothing after presenting their vague, threatening policy (which puts all Unity games from the past on the hook) and betrayal of their old terms. The precedent is clear
@fosbat
Wait what, no, I'm talking about the randomly generated moon in my game, not the temperature outside. It's literally called "Ouu-59" and it "just dropped" cause it's new. lol
@audaki_ra
...This can simulate something echoing from afar, but I don't think it's very noticeable. Also I simply up the "spread" on most audios so they come into both ears. Here's a video of back when the game had actual HRTF
@SlightlyCre
Maybe, but I'm curious why you'd want that, since there are unofficial youtube uploads already. As for Spotify, I'd rather not go through the process of getting my music on there. If you'd like a lossless file format, well the samples used in these tracks aren't very high quality
man, i still think about how Half-life Alyx's lighting made it look oddly real. Whereas most triple-A games have a 'mock-realism' to them, trying way too hard to make everything extremely beautiful
Lethal Company's focus has turned towards outdoor environments more and more over the course of its development, which is a turn I NEVER would have expected at the beginning, but it's really cool and refreshing. it works more than I thought it would, and it provides contrast
