11 Adar: R'Chaim Yosef Dovid Azulai, the Chida (1724-1806). The great Sefardic Rav & leader was Talmid of the Ohr Hachaim & a pioneer in the publication of Jewish religious writings. He wrote over 70 Sefarim, including the Birkei Yosef on Shulchan Aruch.
20 Kislev: R'Yitzchak Hutner (1906-80). Rosh Yeshiva of Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin, New York. Author of the monumental work, Pachad Yitzchak. In 1970 R'Hutner was on an airplane which was hijacked by Palestinian terrorists. He (and others) were held hostage for about 3 weeks.

28 Av: R'Dovid Cohen, the Nazir (1887-1972). Learned in Radin (under the Chafetz Chaim), Volozhin & Slabodka and later became a star Talmid of R'Avraham Yitzchak HaKohen Kook. Edited & organized Rav Kook's sefer Oros HaKodesh & authored the sefer Kol HaNevua.
