Provided unofficial updates during construction, because the official accounts couldn't be bothered. Providing fan based updates now because the SMC is clueless
South Stand is always fun.
Reminder, since the playoffs where a few youngsters got carried away, the South is ALLOCATED tickets. Saw a few "I can go where I want" types last night.
You can, but etiquette demands that spot is the ticket holders. Please be respectful of that.
Fair play to Southend United's support, who have nearly sold out the North Stand. Heck of a trip for them. Another very healthy home crowd already too.
If you take away the Leeds result, which you have to as they are a Premiership club in Championship clothing, it's been a rather encouraging pre-season.
Is a corner being turned?
Wrexham at home on December 3 already looking like it's going to be a 7,000+ crowd. Can't remember ever seeing this much red weeks in advance (and Wrexham will sell out their away allocation).
Still remember those spouting off about how the new Stadium would kill City's attendances and atmosphere.
York City finished this season with an average of just over 5,000 a game, Cityβs highest average in 30 years.
In Tier 5, a poor season, and a disfuctional board.
#Potential
Well, well, well! All the builders are gone. The place is clear of construction equipment, and they are testing the safety systems.
Are we actually, finally, getting closer to this place opening!
Volume up (PS I think it *is* a test π )
The South Stand looks a whole lot better with the new signage, that also works far more than an advertisement, and adds some idenity.
Lovely touch with "We Are York" and "David Longhurst".
@NfinnertyElec
@matt_uggla
The way you are conducting yourself as the new steward of our club also deserves praise. A 360 turnaround from a dodgy owner firing Askey via a broken printer.
The statement was very well worded, and the internal role offer was classy and correct. Thank you Matt.
We can but dream for such signage above the home end behind the goal, but in my opinion it would look mighty fine affixed on the back of the cinema building and let our opposition really know who we are and where they were!

...
I'd say - based on tickets sold and the walk up - we're looking at going on a 7,000 crowd expected today for York City vs Notts County today.
We last played them six years ago, a league higher (Division 2), and at Bootham Crescent. The crowd for that match was 3,811.
I did not have to open any doors or move any fences or pass any "do not enter" signs to get these photos.
Got to say, it's very impressive when inside. Photos don't do it justice.
Very long tweet thread, as it's the first time I've been inside.
East and North Stands.
I know, celebrating (at least we hope we will be) at the end of a season with a promotion (we hope) is going to be on the pitch, but we don't want the premature incident like last week and no chubby teenage wannabees running to the away end please.
Good news!
"YCFC is currently leading a project to explore the stadiumβs options to replace the current scoreboard with a larger, more advanced screen which can display graphics and customised messages, whilst providing commercial opportunities."
Liaising with COYC, YCK, SMC.
City are on track to sell over 6,000 home tickets for Friday's game.
Someone pass that on to Richie Myler, quoted in a Knight's tweet saying "The city of York is crying out for a sport team to get behind," to the Yorkshire Post. π€¨

3,000 home fans, despite:
The iffy start to the season.
Very little incentives for - and lack of promotion (improving) of - the new Stadium.
In the sixth tier.
With an owner that doesn't even bother to turn up.
Can you imagine the potential here?
OK, we need to at least try to see if the SAG will compromise? There's a lot of regular *law-abiding* City fans missing out on a sold out final and a thousand seats not for sale.
5/6 rows netted off is too much. Maybe meet us half way?
Any options?
Brilliant support as always tonight. Non stop throughout.
South Stand felt like the Shippo, with the stewards rightly not interfering cause no one was complaining, as the middle parts turned into people in the ailses and over the back railings.
Brilliant atmos.
Nearly 4,000 at the LNER today, in the sixth tier, with just a couple of hundred away supporters.
Rediculous potential if York can get back up the leagues.
One step closer to where we belong!
Amazing atmosphere from all three home stands. Excellent professional performance from the players.
Best wishes to Boston next season.
@joe_wxm
It's in Huntington which is still in York. Double the crowds of the old stadium which was falling apart and on life support and without a new stadium the club would have not survived. We've always miss BC, but we're happy with the new place.
Do some research before spouting.
Very rare you see this from a manager removed from his role, but just shows the class of the man.
Didn't work out for him during this transitional period, but we'd be talking about a transition in the league below had it not been for him.
SCOOP! Whilst shopping for posh baps in Marks and Sparks, a guy in a Buckingham safety jacket (socially distanced) passed me. I went for it, made a passing "Stadium ready when?"
His response "Fuck off" (laughs).
This marks the first communication from Buckingham in a year. π€£
5:06pm on the BBC sounds livestream:
Henderson laughing in David Ward's face when asked if he wanted to do an interview, saying he stictched him up and to blame for falling out with Askey. And "why would I sell?" Then Henderson's wife wagged his finger at him.
Good grief.
CONSTUCTION BEGINS on the new stadium! Major site prep.
Numerous heavy equipment already at work. More were arriving. Work taking place on both the Stadium site and the Hub side.
This Twitter feed will provide regular updates. Will RT those tagging us with photos.
Another 3,000+ crowd expected, despite being in tier six, small away support and the club's board being inept.
Great core support, but can't help wondering what the numbers would be if City were run properly.
For the first time since the stadium opened, tickets in the three West Stand sections I, H, and G are now available for
@Buxton_FC
fans after they sold out the North Stand.
This West Stand split option is by design, to cater for large away followings (well done Buxton!)
One place above the relegation zone, and the crowd will be north of 5,000 (Halifax bringing 700).
Again, super impressive that's now expected. We've near-doubled our average with the move to the new stadium, with a ton of extra potential when the team improves.
Home support:
6,300 already, with a few hundred Chorley.
No season tickets, so literally over 6,000 York City supporters bought a ticket for a sixth tier playoff eliminator on a Wednesday night.
6β£,3β£0β£0β£ in pre-sales already!

Bootham Crescent September 27, 2022.
Vast majority of folk are very happy with the new stadium, but this still is like a punch to the guts when you see what's left.
Not sure how much more could have been done by the SMC. Wasn't even *that* cold overnight. It's 4C right now. Nothing frozen on grass areas in YO31.
Soft referee who didn't fancy a cold one tonight calling it off? (Not sure how unilateral rules are there).

I reckon we're over 8,000 now! Incredible. Chesterfield bringing 2,000, so that's over 6,000 City fans turning up for when City are in the bottom end of tier 5.
Imagine the potential.
The promotion final will be York City vs Boston United at what is nailed on to be a sold out LNER Stadium (Boston will fill the North Stand) next Saturday!
Super Atmos tonight and a lot of things went right.
We'll discuss the issue at the end with some over caffeinated kids with silly haircuts crossing the line, but it's a small miniority. I'm sure our excellent
@ycsouthstanders
can maybe work on some "dos and donts" leadership.
@YorkCityFC
All the best to Mikey. Will be best known as the manager who kept us up after Henderson fired Askey (stupid decision as we know) and the Webb experiment did not work out (at all).
It's a tough business, so fair play to Matt for making the decision, which won't have been easy.
The South Stand is now sold out for Friday night's FA Cup game, bar six seats allocated to wheelchair access infront of SB.
Remember not to cause an avalanche of people in wrong seats. Stick to the one you purchased.
South Stand is always fun.
Reminder, since the playoffs where a few youngsters got carried away, the South is ALLOCATED tickets. Saw a few "I can go where I want" types last night.
You can, but etiquette demands that spot is the ticket holders. Please be respectful of that.
So apparently this is an interim solution until the new jumbotron is installed in the corner. It's already a lot better than the previous one we got from the council.

Heading toward a 8,000 crowd for our game against Wrexham. Confidence isn't exactly high, but it'd be typical City to win this one. It's the Dog and Duck FC's that we can't buy a win against.
Looks like, for the first time ever, we're preparing to open up sections of the North Stand to City fans (don't take anything to the bank until the club says so).
This would take the crowd to over 8,000.
Going to keep banging on about this until it happens, but
@YorkCityFC
- phone SMC (probably sat in the chair next to you, heh), get them at least some games in the new stadium.

What a top night in the Monks Cross megadome. Maybe the new ground doesn't have the charm or history, but tonight it definitely carried the soul of Bootham Crescent. Would love to see York go win these play-offs now.

Apart from the result, some positives:
South Stand successfully felt "Shippo-like". NO one told to sit down. Stewards - ALL friendly and helpful.
Even with only 2,000, the place is loud.
Electronic tickets worked fine.
Loads of double decker buses waiting at full time.
Absolutely astonished to hear

The East Stand is looking very nice indeed.
@NorthfieldLtd
's photos RT'ed, but a lot of us will remember the years of nothing, mixed in with some rather tinpot proposals, but finally we're getting something decent for our clubs. Yes, we can all miss BC but still be excited!
Wish Steve and Micky all the best.
Now for Jason to announce the club is up for sale.
Look how that worked out for the Knights. Imagine how it would work for City if a Flatman-style owner took a grip of the club?
Craft Beer place has popped up in one of the units right next to the stadium.
Multiple boozer options now around the place, if not a proper sports bar or actual pub, of course.
One win from Wembley, again. Nearly a 1,000 City away fans. The feelgood factor is back, with work to do, however! Tuesday night under the lights again coming up.
Then a potential semi-final, likely to break the stadium attendance record again.
Already good sales ahead of Monday's game that could secure City's place in the playoffs.
Would be great if we could catch Chorley and get the home tie in the playoffs. That'd break the record attendance if so.
To reassure fans - can
@YorkCityFC
@YorkSMC
and
@FirstYork
put our a line about adequant public transportation after the "three buses" line of yesterday. This requires communication, ASAP.
Everything needs to be done to assure first time stadium goers aren't put off by issues.
Make sure they get the reception they deserve for such a great season. We Are York, and we should be proud of our teams, York City FC mens and ladies. York City Knights mens and ladies and all associated York clubs.
Always a good sign when the official account boots up their Commodore 64 to make its bimonthly tweet. π
Meanwhile.......I mean, come on, this stadium is looking very decent!
Dagenham & Redbridge have sold 12 (Twelve) away tickets so far for Saturday. π¬ Kinda shows the right call was made to put small away support in the north end of the West Stand.
How about offering mini-tours (Covid safe) of the new facilities here to - let's say - those fans who purchased Season Tickets and never got full value?
You know, just an idea.
I miss this time on Saturdays where we're holding on to a one goal lead against some pub league side who are just about to send up a meaty plumber for a set-piece.
No further communication from
@YorkCityFC
about the SMC mess.
You'd think turning away one to two thousand fans from the opening day of the season would result in a stream of "we're urgently trying to fix this!" releases.
Heck, lie! Just make it sound like you give a sh-t!
