The Wichita Police Department's mission is to work in partnership with our community to deliver exceptional police services with professionalism and fairness.
Based on community complaints of speeding and aggressive driving, officers from the WPD traffic section worked a concentrated enforcement in the 4000 block of W. Kellogg. For about 2 hours, the officers watched for speeding and other violations. 27 citations were issued.

: Just a reminder that the law requires you to pull over to the right and stop when an emergency vehicle operating with lights and sirens is approaching. These vehicles are responding to an emergency and need to be able to move through traffic safely.
I am deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred yesterday, resulting in the loss of two officers from the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections, one officer from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, and one member of the U.S. Marshals Service assigned 1/4
