It is with heavy hearts and sadness that the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office announces the passing of retired Deputy Scott McDonnell.
Retired Deputy Scott McDonnell served our county honorably for 29 years. Our hearts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.

Welcome Tito, our newest K9 Deputy
Tito was named for Staff Sgt. Matthew Thompson who died on 8/23/16 in Afghanistan during Operation Resolute Support.
Matthew was also an honor student, football player and pole vaulter from Brookfield Central HS.

Titus, a 19-month-old Belgian Malinois from Holland, is our newest K9 Deputy.
He is certified thru Jessiffany Canine Services & the Am Police Canine Assn as a Dual Purpose Narcotics K9, ❤️ tennis balls & is a Sagittarius & single 🐶

This afternoon K-9 Tito had the pleasure of dropping off 40 K-9 plushies at Children's Hospital.

Waukesha County Sheriff Department will be selling K9 plush dogs with a 100% of the net sales donated to the United for Waukesha Community Fund

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to retired K-9 Deputy Soldier. Soldier passed away 11/15 from natural causes. He came to the department from Belgium in 2007. He faithfully served w his partner Dep Schuenemann for 9 yrs & retired from active duty in 12/2015.

UPDATE: At this time the search for the suspect has concluded. The suspect was not located and has yet to be identified. The incident remains under investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office as we continue to follow leads that are developed.
Yesterday WSD Deputies Kristalidis & Strandberg were called to help an injured hawk in traffic on Pewaukee Rd/Riverwood Dr. Deputies assisted while a vet removed the hawk to their clinic for treatment.

Recently we have seen an increase in complaints of pedestrians and bicyclists not showing due regard at trail crossings on county highways.
While vehicles need to yield to pedestrians in crosswalks, pedestrians cannot just step out into traffic.
