It’s not often that a city gets the chance to add a new bridge to its skyline – and we’re adding four. This one is on its way to get painted before we bring it to Toronto via the St. Lawrence Seaway.

We’re creating new wetlands in the Port Lands, but in the process we accidentally revived the original wetland. And a historical seedbank that had been buried with it. Confused? We were too.
Growing trees in an urban setting is not as easy as it sounds. To maximize the growth and longevity of the new trees, each tree in Love Park has a soil volume more than 30m3, which is about two and a half times the volume of concrete a mixer truck holds.
Another bridge is sailing towards the Port Lands! The Cherry Street South Bridge will cross what is currently Polson Slip, and what will eventually be the new mouth for the Don River.

Up until the early 2000's, East Bayfront was a vacant and underutilized area along the water's edge. After years of planning and consultation, the neighbourhood is now a thriving community where people can live, work, and play.
The bridge passed through Montreal over the weekend. To get to Toronto it has to navigate a series of locks, which you can see in this timelapse from the first bridge’s journey.
