We've been battling conditions all through the night but drifting snow has made some rural roads impassable with vehicles stuck. There are closures on some of motorway network. Please only essential travel. We are working to try and get the network clear

Thats a wrap! Today marks an end of our 2020/21 winter season. 78 Gritting runs completed using 16,600 tonnes of salt involving 95 people including drivers and supervisors. Thanks to all those involved and we will be back in October

We'll be monitoring possible rain during the evening and be prepared for temperatures to fall below freezing after the rain stops. If required our crews are ready to treat the network during the early hours.
So after 44 grit runs since 1st January the forecast is looking like crews may have a few days rest while temperatures look to be a bit warmer. Take a good rest guys you deserve it! ππ

Our gritters have covered 6000 miles and used over 900 tonnes of salt in a bid to make Warwickshire roads safer. Temperatures are not expected to rise above zero and will fall after midnight (-8 degrees). So please take extra care on the roads, both tonight and in the morning.

In the last 24 hours the precautionary routes, some 46% of our network (1,100 miles) have been treated 3 times. 19:00, 03:30 and 13:00. We have gritters out spreading and ploughing (where necessary) on the network now. For route details please see

We completed a full treatment of precautionary routes this afternoon. We are currently fitting snow ploughs and will be out again around 19.30. Vehicles will not fit down all roads with ploughs fitted so some more residential roads may not be treated this time
