In Lagos, it is illegal not to put your child in school. Primary and secondary education is free. Tertiary really shouldn’t be if we’re serious about building world class centre of learnings. Govt should focus on funding R&D in universities not tertiary education for all.
I may sound hypocritical but you have to agree that we are one of the most entitled people in the world. We want subsidized everything, fuel, tertiary education, FX, electricity, housing. We can as well lie down and wait for govt to wipe our bums after toilet.

🇳🇬 has ~20 million out of school children; our Tertiary Institutions has capacity to accommodate only ~40% of UTME students. Our education budget in 2023 was ~9% of budget (UNESCO:15-20%).
We need accessible, subsidized education for devt (Endogenous factor of devt )

Bro, Lagos has ~2 million out of school children. I agree that more investment needed in Primary/Secondary/Technical schools. We also need more Vocational Institutions. Govt should expand our Tertiary Institutions capacity & also adopt the Voucher form of educational funding
@konibajeooo
egbon at least 60% of my classmates didn’t know what they were doing 😂In many cases, people go to school for societal reasons not on need basis, hence, the over population. University decision should be that we are betting on ourselves, in Nigeria, nothing is at stake 😂

The middle level educational manpower requirement is practically non existent in Nigeria now. You are either recruited as an SSCE holder or a tertiary degree will be required. Even the FG hardly employs anyone short or tertiary degree. Why won't everyone need it?

Name one University/College in Canada that has experienced a 700% increase fees.I’m sure you can’t find anywhere in the world.

One thing I love about APC is that they look for whatever we are enjoying and take it away from us. They would be like "This people are going to school for free, let's take that away from them."

How many states offer free education in Nigerian? Even the ones that do, go round many public schools & see the level of decay, you'll weep. Waec said 8 states are owing them & will not release their results. Lagos isn't the whole of Nigeria.
