Fort Carson Fire and Emergency personnel, in coordination with several external fire departments, is fighting a wildland fire off Highway 115 South that began at about 2 p.m. The Salt Canyon Fire has impacted about 30 acres; no buildings or personnel are currently threatened.

The Wild Horse Fire is 10% contained and crews are working to ensure no further hotspots pose a threat. HWY 115 has reopened, but ariel assets will remain in other areas to continue fighting the fire. Crews will work and monitor the perimeter through the night.

FORT CARSON IS CURRENTLY ON A 2-HOUR DELAY FEB. 28. Soldiers report no later than 9 a.m. Civilian employees arrive no later than 2 hours past normal report time. Contact supervisor for additional guidance. Stack IWR will serve limited menu breakfast from 8-9 a.m.

The Fort Carson Fire Department, Southern Colorado Wildland Fire Team & Colorado Springs FD will conduct a prescribed burn on an installation range today, Nov. 1, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Smoke may be visible along Highway 115. The operation is expected to be complete by 4 p.m.

Due to extreme temperatures and pending inclement weather, Fort Carson will adjust reporting times for Monday, Jan. 30. All 4ID/non-4ID units will report between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. USAG personnel will report so all services, aside from CYS, are operational no later than 8:30 a.m.
