We were working on back leg drive, hip to shoulder separation, front leg stabilization/extension and forward trunk tilt. These drills are a great way to build power through kinetic chain and work on proper kinematic sequence of throwing without having to use baseball.

Chad having his buddy Spencer help him with some banded assistance throws on the mound with a Sklz Recoil band from level 2 in the 3X Extreme Pitching Velocity Program. This helps add a little momentum and get the feeling of how fast they need to be moving down the mound.

3X Beginner Med Ball is great for teaching how upper body must sequence with optimal forward trunk power to most efficiently transfer energy toward the target. The pad really allows pitcher to feel what it is like to launch trunk towards the target while arm is along for ride.

📌 The key to holding torsion is to sit more into the glute than the knee as you counter rotate hip to trunk as you fall forward and down at the same rate.

Holding torsion in drive leg by loading into flexion of hip and externally rotating allows you to produce more force and efficiently transfer energy up the kinetic chain. Pitching requires excellent hip mobility in external rotation, abduction, internal rotation and extension.

Clay throwing 45 in a Med ball separation throw and his kinematics still aren’t optimized 👀. When he starts driving his back leg this guy is gonna start throwing smoke. He’s showcasing great horizontal abduction, front leg stabilization/extension and forward trunk tilt here.
Never thought I would find an organization who didn’t play this game for status alone but who were obsessed with developing not just exceptional baseball players but human beings. I wish more organizations like

Thoughts before we get into summer and i spend next 6 weeks consumed by prepping to play actually playing then working to get better and at same time banging out calls to schools recruiting! ABNORMAL=absence of normal aka not normal! What we do summer fall and winter isnt normal!
Corey Wilson was 82mph in camp a few months ago and he is now 87mph with a 91mph shuffle step throw. He is close to becoming the next TopV 90+mph Testimonial. He just needs to get his legs as dynamic on the mound as in the throw here. Keep an eye on him!
