Look - it's just a lil' guy! This is the larval stage of Transversotrema hafniensis, it belongs to a family called Transversotrematidae and the adult fluke lives underneath the scales of fishes

Snakes are commonly parasitised by ticks, but this particular species - Amblyomma nitidum - is a specialist on sea snakes and has followed its hosts into the sea, making it one of the few species of marine ticks

People have this image of "savage carnivores & peaceful herbivores" - when it's often the opposite. Carnivores have to kill to eat, but they spend the rest of their time chilling. Meanwhile, herbivorous animals are some of the most angry and most dangerous MFers on the planet.
