#TopOfThePops
to promote their new single 'See Emily Play'.
The photos are from the rehearsal before the broadcast.
On this day - 10th March in 1967 Arnold Layne the first Pink Floyd single was released.
Written by Syd Barrett it reached number 20 in the UK singles chart.
We are very sad to update you that Syd's friend and flatmate Duggie Fields died yesterday at the age of 76. An accomplished artist, Duggie will be sadly missed by many.

photo shoots is this one taken by Adrian Boot. The band were photographed in a few locations, including a church, on 2 October 1967 & has become known as the 'Junkyard' photo shoot. Included here is a frame we've never seen before, picture 4.
Octopus was the first single by Syd Barrett as a solo artist and was released on 14 November 1969, two months before the release of ‘The Madcap Laughs’

The album was released in the UK on this day - 14 May 1971 and in the United States on the following day.

“Bob Dylan Blues” was written in 1965 but not released until the 2001 compilation “Wouldn’t You Miss Me?” and the 2010 compilation “An Introduction to Syd Barrett”.
These recreations of the covers of Piper at the Gates of Dawn, The Madcap Laughs & Barrett in Lego bricks were made by Eleonora Siatoni. We think they are brilliantly done! :)

Dominoes is the third song on Barrett - the second and final studio album released by Syd Barrett in 1970
The song features a backwards guitar solo by Barrett, and organ and Wurlitzer by Wright.

Created by Swedish animator The Artist On The Border the film is inspired by the love letters Syd wrote to his girlfriends Libby Gausden Chisman and Jenny Spires in the magical late Sixties.
