LTN madness must STOP.
Council elites divide communities so already quiet roads become dead zones while those around suffer bottleneck congestion.
#StopLTNs
Don't get why he is still so far ahead in the polling.
Are people really blind to what has been happening to small trades, pensioners and carers, or anyone else on low income who has good reason to drive a vehicle?
A report published by Bath and North East Somerset Council has found that the rates of people killed or seriously injured went up in the majority of 20mph zones in the 12 months after they were installed at a cost of £871,000.
A trial scheme by Wandsworth council in London to enforce 20mph speed limits has been blocked by the Department for Transport (DfT), which has described the way the authority was using its powers as ‘unlawful’.
Surely Mayor Khan is also unlawful.
Under Sadiq Khan's watch, housing crisis has worsened, motorists have been driven off the roads, and crime has run out of control, while the cost of running the Mayor’s office has risen exponentially. Londoners pay more, and get less.
Third term anyone?
Sadiq Khan's smirk tells us everything we need to know.
The man thinks he's untouchable.
Show him otherwise - Don't let him have a third term on 2nd May 🗳
Carbon Sadiq Khan 80,000 air miles in one year.
This was not on the 2021 manifesto.
I don't remember
@guardian
or
@BBCNews
reporting this (media bias by omission)
Will not be voting for such a hypocritical toad in 2024.
Does not look good for Mayor Sadiq Khan.
65,805 signatures & counting since March 23 is a lot for these types of petitions.
Politicians need to realise that our towns & cities are not just for locals in 15 min bubbles.
Let's get it to 100,000
#StopTheULEZ
Well Sadiq Khan's mismanagement of London’s road network has shattered productivity.
TFL need to take a share of responsibility for trashing the London economy.
May 2nd '24 🗳️
Susan Hall key pledges:
Scrap ULEZ expansion on day one
Encourage removal of Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs)
Remove unnecessary 20mph zones on main TfL roads
Reinstate borough based policing
Reopen London Plan to boost housebuilding
Susan Hall promises to ditch floating bus stops if elected London Mayor 2024.
Susan has also vowed to crack down on 20mph zones, low traffic neighbourhoods (LTNs), and will rule out “pay-per-mile” charging.
Tory MP Theresa Villiers launches bid to give ministers the power to overturn Sadiq Khan's hated ULEZ expansion and to review London mayor's 'anti-car policies' such as Low Traffic Neighbourhoods and 20mph speed limits.
Friday 9th Feb, 3.50pm. Traffic as far as the eye can see….ambulance with lights on totally stuck. Nothing is moving. Traffic is not evaporating..
@TfL
@MayorofLondon
How is scrapping perfectly good cars, only to be replaced by coal-fired manufactured & slave mined brand new cars going to save the planet?
Sometimes properly maintaining and making do with what you have is the most green thing you can do.
Council scraps plans for a low-traffic neighbourhood (LTN) after businesses and residents “bombarded” the council with objection letters.
Nice to have a Council that actually values the opinion of their residents & businesses and acts accordingly.
Dept of Transport reported that in the 10 London boroughs where LTN's were introduced, drivers had to drive an extra 41 MILLION MILES to complete their journeys just in 2021 alone. LTN's do NOT make our air better.
LTNs - Low Traffic Neighbourhoods have nothing to do with active travel.
They are all about gifting private no through enclaves to the privileged few in big houses living on quiet side roads.
LTNs Low Traffic Neighbourhoods
Female Uber passengers have warned a council that they are being forced to walk home alone at night because their drivers will not enter a controversial low traffic neighbourhood (LTN).
Islington BC mislead residents when it said NO2 pollution fell after it created 8 LTNs in Highbury West & Highbury Fields.
Data proved NO2 levels actually rose 26% across Highbury after introduction compared with same period in a previous year.
#StopLTNs
.
Many drivers now have their 'eyes glued to speedometers' to avoid breaking the new 20mph rules across thousands of Wales' once 30mph streets.
I find it astonishing that government doesn't see the problem with this.
Why do you think I so vehemently oppose ULEZ?
It is designed specifically to bed in the tech for pay-per-mile.
The level of control on people's movements on anything other than a push bike is getting like North Korea.
Vote this man out. He clearly has a profound problem with working class people.
Pay-per-mile coming next. He will offer to scrap all other charges as a "sweetener". I don't joke about these things.
Here's feedback.
LTNs *increase* mileage driven by cars, vans, lorries etc.
Even completely eliminating shortest 30% of all journeys increases overall mileage travelled if LTNs add just 500m at each end.
In reality LTNs add far more than 500m + *traffic*.
"this is madness beyond belief.....scrapping perfectly good cars, so you have to manufacture cars to replace them????that is really environmentally unfriendly"
LTNs Low Traffic Neighbourhoods
Councillor Susan Hall is listening. Let's hope she can deliver and get the wretched schemes removed where they're not wanted. Assuming people get out and vote 🗳

No one knows London like our cabbies.
Sadiq Khan's LTNs are causing chaos on our roads and making it harder for Londoners to get around.
See my ride through London here:
Ministers have wasted billions on LTNs, says watchdog.
£3.3b was spent on LTNs between 2016 and 2021 but walking and cycling fell.
Anti-car schemes have divided the country and led to violence in some areas.

@MailOnline
Anti-car mob are running scared with the pedantic bullying community notes, tantamount to a kind of harassment.
The more they do this the more my support strengthens for Susan Hall.
It's common knowledge now that Sadiq Khan wants motorists off the road.
LTNs Low Traffic Neighbourhoods
Time to review ALL Hackney & Islington LTNs street by street.
Rip them all out and have local referendums by all those affected.
"Sadiq Khan punching bag installed at Purley business over ULEZ"
Never seen this kind of widespread dissatisfaction with any politician over policy since Poll Tax.
Pro-LTN anti-car Southwark Council splurged £77k on 'luxury' chauffeured car trips for the mayor between 2019 and 2022, a freedom of information (FOI) request revealed.
Best way to fight climate change is to maintain existing vehicles, not constantly forcing people to change to the latest model in a nonsensical 'keeping up with the Joneses' race.
We need to learn from Cuba and make do, instead of greenwashing zealotry.
Why hasn't Imperial College taken down this gaslighting rubbish?
We all know the truth about LTNs that congest and pollute surrounding roads to make quiet roads completely no through.
LTNs Low Traffic Neighbourhoods
These anti-car schemes are dreadful, not climate friendly, not good for community cohesion, increase traffic burden on residential main roads often more densely populated than the roads made no through.
Say NO to LTNs.
Khan did not have a mandate to extend ULEZ, and now he is judging people who are united in a common cause to fight the expansion of the zone out to the M25.
The man is acting like a dictator and MUST go.
LTNs Low Traffic Neighbourhoods
After 6 months Corstorphine LTN has increased traffic up to 70% on some roads and fewer people are walking and cycling. And rather than reduce traffic overall, it has displaced traffic to surrounding streets.
Remove cars reduce buses. What is wrong with Sadiq Khan?
London was a buzzing city yet Khan's obsession with 15 minute hamlets is destroying everything that has built up over centuries.
This can be the beginning of the end of Sadiq Khan’s nightmarish misrule
If the Tories choose the right candidate, grassroots fury at the mayor’s anti-car agenda could finish him
ALLISTER HEATH
Ignore the community comment. It is FACT that Khan has employed staff for pay-per-mile.
Khan cannot be trusted.
He has zero empathy for motorists or those affected by the collateral damage of anti-car policies.
Khan is too closely aligned to anti-car pressure groups to govern.
Sadiq Khan’s pay-per-mile is just ULEZ 2.0. It would be a disaster for London.
If every driver has to pay for every mile they drive, families and businesses could be forced into debt - or out of London.
I will chuck his pay-per-mile plans in the bin.
20mph
Mr Loophole has warned that because vehicles are going at an “unnaturally slow” pace on these roads, it is giving rise to “kamikaze cycling”, which the expert said puts all road users at risk.
LTNs Low Traffic Neighbourhoods
Another one falls👏 👏 👏 👏
Council to remove ‘low traffic neighbourhood’ scheme.
One councillor said the issue had 'pitted neighbour against neighbour and street against street'.
20mph is ridiculously slow speed to impose as a blanket limit and fails to recognise that outside of normal rush hour, away from LTNs, towns & cities were running remarkably efficiently.
Just enforce the 30mph limit that was there 🤷♂️
#priorities
Drivers in London could have to pay-per-mile charges by the end of the decade in order to achieve Sadiq Khan’s “accelerated” plan to hit net zero, documents reveal.
The man is a misery and a fraud.
If he cared so much about pollution and climate change he would not back the Park Lane cycle lane, Low Traffic neighbourhoods or a ULEZ scheme that penalises super low emission diesels.
LTNS have nothing to do with promoting cycling.
They are all about creating exclusive no through enclaves for those who already benefited from quiet side roads.
HGVs 20mph and lack of momentum.
"If we go up a steep hill and we can only approach at 20mph the gear box is going to change gear up and down, up and down, and we are going to lose a lot of speed. We are going to cause confusion, chaos and mayhem."
This kind of enforcement should be back with the Police where it belongs.
Not as a big fat cash cow for Hammersmith & Fulham (other Councils who have imposed designs to catch out motorists exist)
LTNs Low Traffic Neighbourhoods
“The council tries to brand LTNs as a way of making streets safer. But, really they are about making money for the council. And, that’s where we come in.”
Lambeth LTN Watch.
LTNs Low Traffic Neighbourhoods
"Data from TfL shows that the A23, which runs along the western side of the LTN, became so overwhelmed that one bus took 121 minutes to travel 2.9 miles."
"A further 75% of buses on another route diverted through the LTN"
Anti-ULEZ vigilantes strike again as locals find road cameras sawed in half
Khan gave the green light for this by introducing a policy that is regressive and unfair to people in Outer London
#ULEZExpansion
#BladeRunners
LTNs Low Traffic Neighbourhoods
I now avoid South Fulham like the plague.
Places I used to stop off from coffee shops to second hand furniture shops are losing money.
BBC is so biased when it comes to LTNs.
BBC never mentions the reality of the terrible congestion caused by LTNs, the delays to buses, the misery for those who have to use a vehicle for work or caring duties.
