Russia and China are playing a long game with vaccine diplomacy. Their intention is not only to win plaudits for fulfilling a short-term need, but to cement their influence over the long term. Download free report here

@TheEIU How dare they provide a product people might want. That's insane. It's far more noble to cement one's influence by... *checks notes*... dropping bombs and stealing oil.

@TheEIU What is wrong with you people? Sharing vaccines is just basic human decency. Whatโ€™s evil is the people not sharing, ie the west

@TheEIU Itโ€™s actually good. Competition is more useful and gives more opportunities to a lot of people.

@TheEIU The best way to counteract this is to lift the patent protection of the Pfizer/Moderna/J&J vaccines and provide technical support for developing countries to mass produce the vaccines they needed.

@TheEIU Wow, meanwhile the US is just keeping as hostages the vaccines that were made in Argentina and asking preposterous conditions for Pfizer vaccines.

@TheEIU Weird way to say being moral and helping other people is a good way to make friends. I imagine even your writers were taught to share at some point. The question is--when did you all forget?

@TheEIU You mean they are sending live saving vaccines to countries who needs it? Does that mean all what the West pretends to be doing is aimed at influence?
