Read "I Refuse to Become an AI Smartphone Zombie: The Significance of the Beat Generation, Then and Now" by Ron Whitehead. A wonderful hybrid piece that offers a tasty confluence of beat rhythms and social commentary. Bravo, Ron!
J.B. Polk's short story "The Amazing Story of Dr. Megrelian’s Itinerant Circus and Human Zoo" is a lovely marriage of humor and tragedy. Wonderful attention to character. So well done.
Visionary pieces spinning their wheels at The Argyle from poet, writer, author, and editor R. M. Engelhardt--the founder of the group Albany Poets, as well as the editor of Dead Man's Press Ink, a small poetry press based in Albany NY. Check out

You MUST READ Shadow Morphine Dress, the first of The Argyle's virtual microchap series, by International Beat Poet Laureate (2020-2021) Michael D. Amitin. Sexycool and so so good. It vanishes into the ether on March 15th so read it while you can!
Check out our poetry (micro)chap "Yersinia pestis for Idiots: A Primer for the 14th Century Plague Doctor" from Tom Holmes (
@thelinebreak
) for a serious chuckle. Death and pestilence have never been so fun.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Issue
#3
of The Argyle will be delayed a few days. The new issue will drop on 5/20 around 6PM CST.
We plan on going off-line on 5/17 to update the website.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
Read "Sunshine" and four other poems by Roy Duffield. We love their sensitivity and grit. Mad about
@DrinkTraveller
's pieces, individually, but couldn't imagine not having this resonant grouping grace the pages of the inaugural issue.
Sending much love to all our amazing followers! Overwhelmed with all the support.
Currently putting the finishing touches on The Argyle's launch page. Submission info will be posted here later this evening.
Stay tuned...
Couldn't be happier to have poet Leah Mueller as part of the first issue. The quiet brutality of her work is resonant and never disappoints. Check Leah and her work out on Instagram (
@msleahsnapdragon
) and her website
For now, we are keeping a low profile while we get things organized, BUT do be on the look out for The Argyle's launch page coming soon this January 2021!
Have a great 2021, everyone!
Be on the lookout for some amazing work from Roy Duffield coming to you in just a couple of days. Got some really groovy words to share.

Pulling this one out of the ol' archives. A wonderful piece of short fiction from our inaugural issue, "Rain Over the Atlantic" by Julian Gallo (
@JulianGallo66
). Such a good story.
Hope everyone is having a great Christmas so far. A great gift coming your way will be the words of Ron Whitehead, poet, writer, editor, publisher, professor, scholar, activist, and U.S. National Lifetime Beat Poet Laureate. Editing the piece was a HUGE honor, indeed.
READ "Lorca's long shadow" and two other poems by our Issue
#1
's featured poet Clara Burghelea. Clara's and her beautiful poetry has been a long favorite of ours.
Read "Dishes Best Served Cold," a nonfiction piece about the bitterness and loss of a father/son relationship from David Estringel (
@The_Booky_Man
). Originally published in Cowboy Jamboree.
Our latest addition to the inaugural lineup is Colin Gee, the founder and editor of The Gorko Gazette. A MAD, surreal piece of prose indeed.

Lucky to have some collaborative pieces from writer Stephen Michael Whitter and illustrator Paul Warren in our first issue. Wonderfully talented pair and fellow Dumpster Fire Press alums.
Happy to introduce Chiara Maxia, an actress and writer who divides her time between France and Italy, as one of our contributors. Her words have appeared in Tint Journal, Open Door, Our Verse Magazine, AND (one of our faves) The Opiate. Cool on so many levels.
