Found out my dad was not issued a birth cert. during Jim Crow. Many pregnant Black women were not allowed in hospitals, so they had home births & the govt did not care enough to keep adequate records on Blacks. He lost his ID/SS & the obstacles to get another one is 🗑 w/o a BC.
