If we take the nostalgia goggles off for a moment:
The Fuel signing Pine is just odd.
It would be nearly unprecedented in esports for a player to be totally out of competition for as long as Pine was, and then play at the highest level in a far tougher competitive field.
I think it's an incredible story if it pans out.
Unfortunately, the amount of stories of players in esports coming back from such a long hiatus and performing at an elite level are very few indeed.
Definitely going to be interesting to follow as the season moves along.

Surely they tried him out though and felt his level was adequate to help. They also don't need him to pop off or carry the team. There won't be alot of pressure I don't think just need an decent hitscan player. I could be wrong though and I get where you're coming from.
@TempoZP
I think he had actually been practicing and working towards a comeback. Plus I think in a team where it's not as slow and methodical as NYXL was, I think he legit could pop off.
At the very least, all he's really *needed* for is Widow/Ashe/McCree. Sp9 can handle Tracer.
@TempoZP
Counterpoint, they've just won a tournament without a hitscan player, they required 0% McCree playtime, and there's a decent chance McCree gets banned for the June Joust. Adding Pine to this team just unlocks options.
Plus solidifies anime protagonist status for Fuel.
@TempoZP
It's also surprising when one considers they just won a tournament where they were forced to break the meta specifically because they didnt have someone like Pine 😁
