It's important that Nebraska continues to support efforts along the southern border. Proud to join other governors in our commitment to
@GovAbbott
and his team.
On National Day of Prayer, First Lady Suzanne and I are thinking of the storm victims across Nebraska and offering our thanks to all who have stepped up to support them, in ways large and small.
It was a tremendous privilege for First Lady Suzanne and I to join together with so many faith-filled Nebraskans to celebrate the National Day of Prayer.
It was a wonderful day at the Nebraska Capitol, celebrating National Day of Prayer. Thank you to everyone who came to pray and worship our great God.
Special thank you to
@TeamPillen
&
@JoniAlbrecht1
for hosting with us!
On Wednesday morning, Nebraska Lt. Gov. Joe Kelly, along with both FEMA and NEMA officials flew on a Nebraska Army National Guard UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter.

Today, I signed an executive order that will help streamline operations, identify savings for taxpayers and fulfills my promise of cleaning out the closets to improve state government. Together, we can!
Those affected by the recent tornadoes and storms in eastern Nebraska can drop off tree, limb and other green debris at Two Rivers State Recreation Area just west of Omaha beginning April 29.

Tonight, I issued an emergency declaration for Douglas, Lancaster and Washington Counties -- all impacted by the severe storms -- and which are now eligible to receive assistance funding through the state for recovery.
I joined Nebraska National Guard Adjutant General Strong,
@NEMAtweets
Assistant Director Portis, and many state and local leaders to give an update on storm response and our work to provide security and relief to areas damaged by the tornadoes. Disaster response is a team effort.
My team joined Senator
@LouAnnLinehan
and
@AHansonSheriff
to tour Douglas County neighborhoods hit by the tornadoes. We saw devastating damage and met families digging through destroyed homes, but we also saw neighbors, volunteers, and utility workers coming together to rebuild.
God bless the men and women in, and exemplified, by this image. Our law enforcement and emergency responders, who are the first to rush in after a disaster to protect life, health and property. Thank you to our state troopers, county deputy sheriffs and police officers.
Please keep everyone that was affected today by this devastating tornado in your thoughts and prayers. Troopers are assisting multiple agencies to assure everyone human and pet is accounted for.
Severe weather is expected again today, with large hail, damaging winds, tornadoes, and flooding all possible.
Those cleaning up from storms on Friday will want to have a plan for sheltering before storms develop. Even if the storms are not severe, lightning would be a danger.
