General thread:
Run cycles are tricky- that's why they're one of the first thing you learn when taking animation classes. This run cycle, changing characters throughout, is even more of a challenge, to balance the motion so. Even so, Fran did a wonderful job, on this frankly beautiful-[1/2]
Here, we see a wonderfully executed fusion of two media - TMNT and Littlest Pet Shop. The artist was able to reproduce the charm of the LPS turtle toys while simultaneously expressing the characters and the recognizability of the TMNT -a truly impressive feat!! Excellent work! :)
/srs thread:
It has come to our attention that we have retweeted a promotion for a Tce$ter- that was not our intention, and we formally apologize for any distress this may have caused. I should've double-checked before retweeting, and that is 100% on me. As a benchmark-[1/4]
We here at the gallery would like to take a moment to celebrate International Lesbian Day!! Please, if you are a lesbian TMNT artist, big or small, feel free to either QRT or promote yourself below!! :)
We love seeing how artists masterfully use texture to communicate light and shadow. That combined with the stellar composition (wherein Mikey's line of action is perpendicular to the cosmos behind him) makes this piece out of this world! :)
Character posing is a fantastic way to convey emotions and character in a piece. Droppo does this amazingly, but not only having Raph and Mikey's poses visually mimic each other [both of them are 'flexing', so to speak] but the orientation of the characters in space- [1/3]
Even in just a simple sketch, Shay shows mastery of shape language. Look at the lines the figure is making within their arms, how it arcs back to the head, drawing your focus and attention to Leonardo's face. Your eye may wander around the canvas, but it is drawn back to [1/2]
Be sure to read through this thread! It can be challenging to draw characters with wildly different artstyles interacting, and Becca here did a fantastic job!! She did a great job bridging the gap between the characters- and the natural posing and dynamics -[1/2]
This is a wonderful redraw of some Rise Promo art! We here at The Gallery admire how much work was put into making the characters appear on model in addition to inserting minor character design details that didn't exist previously. Due to the intentional shaping of the-[1/2]
This series of images is gorgeously executed, portraying Raph's emotions and their connection to his physical size. There is something about the comforting gestures we see occur in the latter portion that really gets us- How gentle Leo is in cradling Raph's head, and how [1/2]
The rendering and composition of this piece is absolutely jaw-dropping. Leonardo faces towards an alive, bustling city, distanced and simultaneously faces away from us, the audience. It really drives home the intentional sense of isolation Leo is feeling. The rendering-[1/2]

Just a reminder that we do check who is following us and pro$hip and tc*sters will be blocked immediately, and in addition to that, nsfw art in general will not be shared/ analyzed here ever. This is non-negotiable.
Jojo's art always amazes us. What always gets me is the subtle body language differences from panel to panel- note how in the third panel, Raph's shoulders are dropped more than in 1 and 2- contributing to the confusion he is experiencing. It is details like this that Jojo -[1/2]
Looking to challenge your art skills? DTIYS's, or 'Draw This in Your Style' challenges are a great way to practice and challenge yourself! For your convenience, here is a 🧵 of lists of DTIYS that YOU should join! :)
We keep on seeing stellar Mutant Mayhem fanart, such as this one! We love how Dee was able to preserve the style of the trailer while adapting it amazingly to a 2d medium! We especially like the detail lines in white; they add movement and depth to the piece! Great work! :)
In celebration of 400 followers (again, thank you all so much!!!) We here at The Gallery are hosting a small art challenge! All you need to do is draw a TMNT piece with the theme of 'explosion,' tag us and put it under the hashtag
#TMNTGallery400
, and we'll share it!
The depth in this piece is wonderful - see how the closer the object is to the viewpoint, the more saturated the colors are, and the further, the more desaturated, as if it's fading into the background. Genuinely such a beautiful piece; you can really feel as if you're there! :)
Austen blew us away with this gorgeous piece this December, so we're bringing it back to look at it again, just to remember how absolutely stunning it is. It has a very vertical composition, drawing your eye upward towards the technodrone, then resting peacefully-[1/2]
Dawn adapts this screenshot into their own style perfectly, while still maintaining the essence of terror the figure, Leonardo, is feeling. A detail we noticed Dawn noticed is how the lighting effected the coloring of the eyes in the original screenshot. You can see -[1/3]

For our first challenge after our hiatus, and sort of our celebration for 700 followers, we have a simple open prompt! Drum roll please, and thank you [/j]

More details below [ Thread 🧵]
[Plaintext: Video Games]
Starting up again with an amazing traditional piece of metalhead. There are so many tiny details that we don't know where to begin! Drawing mech characters is difficult for a lot of artists because you need to have a complex understanding of form and shapes to apply(1/3)
we here at the gallery do not tolerate Tce$t, NSFW, or proship content in any form. We try to check everyone, but as shown today, either it slips our minds, or we simply miss the information denoting them as a tce$ter, proshipper, or anything of the like. We appreciate-[2/4]
when people call us out on this if we've shared any people that fall into these categories. It is not your job to keep us accountable, and if all goes well, this will never happen again- but again, we do appreciate this. I apologize if the vernacular of this thread seems-[3/4]
This piece has us at The Gallery always coming back; the mood and feel are conveyed so clearly. The figure, Leonardo, is off to the side of this piece, conveying a sense of imbalance. It becomes clear that something is missing from this scene, or at least that Leo feels-[1/2]
off, this is not something we were prepared to write up today. If you need any clarification on this, please reach out. Again, we sincerely apologize.

Since the trailer dropped, so many people have been drawing the mutant mayhem turtles its hard for us here at The Gallery to keep up. Look at the touch of pink highlight on the mask and the yellow highlight of the skin, it makes the entire piece so cohesive and-[1/2]
This piece oozes great character work! With the turtles taking up so little visual space, it's important that their emotions and characters shine through, and Riiibs does it beautifully! This piece is among our favorites here at The Gallery just because of how expressive-[1/2]
Another artist with a phenomenal colour sense! The light in the image is a yellow green, illuminating the water gorgeously, and, in addition, creating an opposite colour shadow [in this case blue-purple] to further add realistic depth! This is such a effective way to use-[1/2]
I implore you to really get nice and close in the details of this image and its close-ups- Cheez always amazes us with such a remarkable sense of color and space. Look how the stalls to either side help to frame the turtles and how the sky creates-[1/2]
The sparing use of linework in this piece gives it a unique, almost scrapbook like feel. There's an emphasis on the shapes the characters are making, and how that communicates with the posing, creating a very charming character driven piece! Stunning work!! :)
Reminder to support the Mutant Mayhem trailer when it drops! While Rise may have gotten the short end of the stick, that doesn't mean that Mutant Mayhem can't be amazing in its own way!
This piece perfectly captures the heart of sequential art! Wherin, the eye catches the subtle change from image to image, becoming the focal point of the piece. Both figures stick clearly out from the background due to the difference in shade, creating a very readable piece![1/2]
This is absolutely breathtaking. There are so many Tony details we could point out, so many strategies Alam used to create this masterpiece, but we would be here for hours. Note how clear the silhouettes are in this piece, how extra care was put -[1/2]
Shape language is so important to convey meaning and intention in art. Pix has done a wonderful job rounding out the characters making them seem as squishy as possible to add to the wholesome moment. Everything seems rounded- the only true straight or sharp lines are-[1/2]
This artist doesn't have a Twitter to my knowledge, but we here at The Gallery would like to highlight Cass (@/somerandomdudelmao) over on Tumblr! They have a fantastic apocalyptic comic series currently running, and every panel is filled with such emotion and (1/2)
The atmosphere of this piece is beautiful! Not only does Cheez shift the color palette to a warmer reflection of the sun while keeping the same color profile, but the lighting itself is gorgeous. For example, note how Cheez adds blooms of light- especially near the-[1/2]
Look at this wonderful TMNT Mutant Mayhem art!!! We've seen so much amazing art for this movie utilizing sketchier lines to carefully portray the energy and movement of the piece. Amazing work!! :)
We here at The Gallery love analyzing screenshot redraws- how one goes about shifting a pre-existing image to be one of their one creation. By miraculous example, in the scene Krea redrew Raph is simplified so he resembles a star. Krea took that base concept and -[1/2]
Another amazing fanart for TMNT '12!! We here at The Gallery latched on to the absolutely stellar color work of this piece! In the foreground, with the turtles, it seems to be more vibrant to the center of the piece, a great way to grab and keep the attention! And then-[1/2]
This screenshot redraw has such a fun, dare we say sassy, energy to it; you can tell Jamie had a lot of fun with this piece. We here at The Gallery noticed how Jamie shifted a lot of the colours to be more orange, simultaneously grounding -[1/2]
One of the pieces that inspired us to build The Gallery! This piece, nearly monochromatic, has a very particular vibe that it is difficult to place. The accessories and the red of the wine distract your eye for a brief moment. However, the lines that the arms-[1/2]
They say if you explain a joke, it becomes unfunny. We here at The Gallery don't care about stuff like that. This piece is hilarious and shows off one of the cornerstones of comedy: tone switches. By creating an intimidating, dramatic first panel-[1/2]
Kilobaxi's sense of scale and placement is genuinely stunning. Shredder's figure barely fits in the frame, while they had him lean forward, further pushing his intimidating pursuit forward. Leonardo, on the other hand, breaks the frame, which not only places him closer -[1/2]
This piece is so adorable! That may be due to the soft pencil lineart, or how all the colors are light and bright! We here at The Gallery just want to give Donnie a nice pat on the head :)! Awesome work!!!
So many people are doing art challenges this October, and Venus here is starting out strong with a wonderful piece of the Mutant Mayhem turtles pre-mutation! The dark setting really creates a feeling that the ooze, the main source of light, is otherworldly, with mysterious-[1/2]
We just hit 400 followers! We are going to be hosting a small art challenge, but we're still finalizing the last details. Thank you all so much! It's genuinely so touching how many of you guys have reached out with really nice words, and so much support. -[1/2]
This is absolutely wonderful! The hoodies Faerie makes are absolutely amazing-you can tell so much time an effort goes into every single one! We here at The Gallery love how much detail was put into them as well! It may surprise you, but creating a shell-[1/2]
This is such a cool and unique way of using halftone brushes that we here at The Gallery haven't seen before! Not only is the pattern varied throughout the image, [the hairbto the shading on the face to the collar of the shirt] there is an additional overlay of texture-[1/2]
This piece is so simple but it carries such an energy to it- it carries a specific playfulness and warm-heartness. If you're aware with the phenomenon where you can tell if someone is smiling just by their voice, this piece delivers a similar conclusion- that Thomas-[1/2]
Some absolutely gorgeous artwork of Mutant Mayhem April! We here at The Gallery are living seeing all the art of her, this piece very much included! We particularly love how the face was rendered like, a soft painted look, and the eyes, stylized in a way that they-[1/2]
This is the latest of a thread of doodles of The Last Ronin Mikey basically adopting the new generation of turtles! We recommend looking through all the art in this thread, but we'd like to highlight these two specifically. The colour and composition sense, even for just-[1/2]

I'm going on another, hopefully, brief hiatus. So sorry to have two so close in time. I don't know exactly when I'll be back posting again (still send in more submissions, it helps a lot!), but I will keep yall updated. Just in case anyone's worried, I'm safe and OK-[1/3]
We here at The Gallery could talk about this piece for eons, but I'd like to highlight a few, genuinely astounding details. The composition of this piece is what stuck out to us first, invoking the imagery of a mirror- You can tell that's exactly what Chrissy -[1/3]
Some more stellar Mutant Mayhem fanart! The skill with which Jazmin portrays interactions is on a completely other level; it feels very candid and real! Amazing work as always! :)
In this collection here, you can really see Charlie's solid grasp of a figure's anatomy and posing! You can just tell so much work and effort was put into the perspective of the bodies themselves, and how they interact with the objects around them. Notice on Raph's image-[1/2]
Preemtivly, The Gallery will be 'closed' [no special analysis-es] tomorrow [too busy :( ] AND because this week is Bisexual visibility week,TMNT bi people: go ahead and promote yourself below! We'll try to share as many as possible over the next few days!
:)
Ingunn's art always leaves me speechless. The painting is always fantastic, always the perfect balance of hard and soft shading where needed, and without making the forms look muddy or goopy. The part we here at The Gallery are fixing on in this specific piece -[1/3]
Some more amazing Mutant Mayhem art! This piece has such strong character by use of the thin, almost delicate linework combined with the dynamic pose, and beautiful colour scheme! Go and give stoink a follow, they really do deserve it! :)
As always, Lin knocks it out of the park with expressions and character posing! It really helps sell Sandro's character! Composition wise, this piece uses some very intelligent techniques! The 'border' lines pointing to the 'main' Sandro, in addition to the difference in-[1/2]
We're not sure if there is a complete version of this, but this WIP(as it's labeled in the thread) really shows Slushy's exemplary skill!! The use of both half tones and semi-hatched shading really differentiates each texture from one another!!! Awesome work!!! :)
WELCOME, one and all, to our first event here at The Gallery! For the next four hours, we are going to be sharing some amazing fanfiction pieces within the TMNT fandom [all iterations!] because writing /is/ art as well! Get your reading eyes ready for these awesome stories! :)
Another screenshot redraw [it seems like we've been doing a lot of those recently /lh /pos]! The effects and lighting of this are brilliant- how it keeps the same rim lighting as the original but adds softer highlights and shadows- both outlined in a soft orange to sell-[1/2]
There's something about the closeness of these two characters affecting the composition in such a way that you can't separate them without losing the image entirely. Kae put in so much work portraying these soft moments of affection and care, it really is amazing! :)
While still on hiatus, we'd like to take a moment to share what you can do right now for Palestine. Feel free to comment with additional links and information.

Not art-
Is there something concerning happening on rise twt right now? I haven't been able to see an explanation of events, but I thought I would ask for clarification to see if everyone's OK.
This piece feels very tangible in the way that although it is a digital piece, the texture of the image as a whole reminds us, here at The Gallery, of acrylic on canvas traditional pieces. This choice alone creates the sense that this piece was made as an almost -[1/2]
Heads up for TMNT artists! You are always welcome to add TMNT Gallery to art tag lists! We can't promise to analyze every piece, but we love seeing everyone's art!
We here at The Gallery could talk about this piece for ages, but we'll try to keep it brief to appease Twitter char. limits. The colours are the most obvious thing to comment on, how vibrant they are, and how the color of the rim lighting changes based on material, creating-[1/3]
This piece is wonderful! The pose has such a good weight to it, especially where Leo is resting his head on his arms. The perspective is also awesomely executed, and the foreshortening is really well thought out and extremely believable! This piece, as a whole, represents a-[1/2]
Genuinely stunning work here- Annevius was able to literally and physically bring a 2D form and shape into 3D, no easy task, while also staying true to the show's original style. The mental work that must've been done to be able to translate these forms- it is incredible! :)
I sort of regret sculpting him sitting only in that painting him was a challenge, but Leo is done, more or less. I might make a few more changes, but for now small break and then on to Donnie.

We love pieces like this- when separate ideas all come together with a cohesive theme, for example, Donny and and his relationship to pain. Genuinely such a sadly beautiful piece that functions as character work- allowing the viewer to understand Don better. Great job! :)
Ah, Traveller! Come and sit for a spell. Looking to broaden your art horizons? See something expiermiental or strange? No matter the case I assure you will have a wonderful time browsing out collection.
Dm for submissions, others art, or your own! We are all artists :)
The colors and texture that this piece has is incredibly beautiful. Soda was able to take the concept of a sun-set and infuse it into every portion of this, from the lighting mimicking golden hour, to the actual color choices of this piece all ending on the warm spectrum-[1/2]
We here at The Gallery can't stop thinking about this piece! It's very well executed, and the entire piece oozes energy! From the sharp lineart, to the bright and bold colors, to even, our favorite part, the half-tone shading and lighting- they all bring this piece to life![1/2]
We love how Don and Aprils friendship seems to transcend iterations, as illustrated here. Kilobaxi did an incredible job adapting these two hooligans to their own style flawlessly! Notice the detailed linework, especially in April's hair and Donnie's shell! Awesome work! :)
Thank you all so much for 600 followers!!! There's celebratory pizza being served in the lobby [/j], but no amount of thank yous could ever express how honored we are at the sheer positive community surrounding this account.
:)
Shay once again exhibits such skill that we here at The Gallery have a hard time wrapping our head around. Koyas shape is clearly defined with an underlying understanding of anatomy. The additional understanding of highlights, midtones (the red!) And shadow make this piece-[1/2]
Sorry for the abrupt stop of art sharing! I'm going to take a couple day hiatus (don't worry, if you shared some art it's still on the queue!) Life has been going a little topsy turvy for me, so I'm putting this on the backburner until next week probably! Thank you all so-
We here at The Gallery haven't had to talk about the wonders of textured brushes! Here, even though this piece is created digitally, the lineart with the textured inking pen creates a feel of soft graphite on paper! It gives the entire piece a little bit of character-[1/2]
As we've said before, art comes in many different shapes and sizes, even in turtle tot size! These adorable turtles stole our hearts here at The Gallery, we just couldn't resist sharing how cute they are! We love how each turtle matches their assigned "shape", even when-[1/2]
It's amazing how immediately recognizable these human designs are- even without relying on their bright color-coding to tell them apart. Their personality shines through their poses and expressions stunningly! Awesome job! :)
In a work of absolute brilliance, Cast has imagined what a possible TMNT point and click adventure game could look like, and honestly we're loving it! The colors and grounding of this piece speak to a level of professionalism that we here at The Gallery can't quite [1/2]
-the peak of the triangle. To even further emphasize this, Shay skillfully uses a darker in value triangle in the background to further emphasize the figure and the focal points. Amazing work! :)
Again, The Gallery will be 'closed' today, but submissions are still open (and please submit if you see good art! Our stash is running quite low at the moment)! In the meantime, drop your favourite TMNT artist with less than 1k below, and we'll share as many posts as we can!! :)
This aged badly! Just to give some context, the admin is a college student and as soon as this update was posted ~finals season~ begun. But! Even in this accidental drought of art on our parts we hit a milestone! 500 followers!!
Style mimicry is difficult, but this comic has the rise style used in the comics on lockdown! It's clear that so much care was put into preserving this particular style, while editing it slightly to fit more expressive or detailed nuances of the characters. Amazing work! :)
Trying to get back into making comics again, so bare with me! This is kinda my test, which unfortunately means I rushed through the script a tad bit... I wanted to fix it so many times, didn't wanna get too distracted. Gonna do my best to keep up with it!

This entire comic is breathtaking, but let's slow down and look at the amazing detail work here, and how each of the panels is distinctive yet cohesive. Twitter thumbnails don't even do it justice, how perfectly the expressions were captured in all the panels -[1/2]
Memory was clearly going for a specific good with this piece, with it being nearly monochromatic save for one element - the eyes - which draws us into the focal point. Additionally, that focal point- the eyes, is the brightest point in the image, further raising it apart -[1/2]
This is wonderful- We here at The Gallery live the soft, gentle lighting of this piece, it gives the firm a rounder, and honestly, a more adorable look to it!! Amazing work!!! It is too darn cute!! :)
Beautiful piece of artwork which may be inspired by linoleum prints, where the only way to get the piece across was via thick likes cut out of linoleum by hand. A piece that will stick with us artists for decades. About rebellion, freedom, and pissing off brothers /lh :)
Some amazing drawings here of Rise Mikey! In addition to the wonderfully expressive character, Neo has upgraded it's art with these stylized shape backgrounds that further push Mikey forward from the page, and adding more contrast! We really like the -[1/2]
Artists! Qrt some of your posts below, and we here at The Gallery will share some of them! This account thrives with submission (if you have any trouble Dming us, let us know!), and we want to share a lot more small/underrated artists! :)
