I bought a bag of chocolate buttons and they have a resealable bag. Luckily, I managed to rip it open so badly that the resealing won’t work and I have to eat them all. Phew.

I'm grateful to everybody who borrows my books from public libraries. Authors receive 9.03p per loan and I've just seen my statement for this year to see a record high number of loans. Libraries are free for the public to use for print books, ebooks and audio.
When I was out walking recently I saw a very elderly lady. She looked sort of propped up in an alcove in a wall so I stopped and asked if she was OK. She said, ‘Fine, duck. I’ve just seen someone I don’t want to see me!’ :-D
The pandemic has given me a new pet peeve - people who walk along together and don’t get into single file to allow foot traffic to come the other way. Every time I step into the road or onto the grass verge I think evil thoughts about this rudeness. Maybe I should just cough ...
Absolutely over the moon to be able to finally reveal my latest (and possibly prettiest) book cover! The wonderful
@AvonBooksUK
and designer Carrie May have done me proud. What do you think?
Whoopee! Publication day is finally here and I'm so glad to be able to introduce readers to Clancy, Aaron, Aunt Norma, Dilys, Ernie and the tiny village of Nelson's Bar. Clancy couldn't have found a better escape.

I saw Billy Connolly was trending. Established he is still alive and kicking, then lost myself in reading some of his brilliant quotes. Went on with my day smiling.
King Billy.
Here is my writerly tip for the day:
Don’t worry if what you write today is crap.
You can uncrap it.
It’s not writing IN CASE it’s crap that kills your book.
EXCITEMENT ALERT! I've been dying to share. Here's the fab Christmassy cover of 'A Christmas Gift', which will be published by wonderful
@AvonBooksUK
in ebook in October ... and HARDBACK in November! Preorders: I'm SO proud to become a hardback author :-)
I really think I’m luckier than some people. Whenever I’m writing, I’m somewhere where lockdown does not exist. People can hug and kiss and go to the pub (probably all at once). They can date, travel, eat out, go to the gym ... Maybe this is why I’m working six days a week.
I’m back from the London book fair and ready to return to my manuscript. Before I do, I’m giving myself a second to reflect that it’s writers who produce the raw material to fuel the massive industry of publishing.

Just blocked a man who DM’d to tell me he could ‘teach me new things’. Here’s a new thing, mate. Be respectful to women, including those you don’t actually know.

Crossing a car park, enjoying the spring weather, I walked in front of a stationary van. A man snarled out of the window, ‘You could have ****ing walked quicker!’ I bestowed on him my sunniest smile and said, ‘You’re right. I could.’
You know what? It didn’t cheer him up at all.
Yesterday’s promotion, where nine of my books were 99p, prompted quite a few interesting conversations with readers, some of them completely new to me. It was lovely! Also, this morning I have two books in the U.K. Kindle too 100 and two Orange bestseller flags. A great result.
The splendid, shiny, glittery, festive blingness of the

paperback will be In the shops on 14th November. Haven’t

done an awesome job? 😍😍😍😍😍
Today would have been my mum's 90th birthday, so I'm meeting my bro today to lay flowers and for us to snatch a quick lunch together. Remembering and missing you, Mum. xx
First day allowed out after Covid. Feel like returning to bed. Husband says, ‘Hope you feel better than you look.’ I say, ‘No,’ and sit down in front of the tv. Covid has given me a kicking!
Don’t I have the MOST amazing publisher?
@AvonBooksUK
has sent me this lovely ‘get well’ gift to help me through Covid. Thank you so much! 💐💐 I MIGHT be eating the chocolate buttons now …
Am I the only one who feels emotions for inanimate objects? I've just replaced my 13yo washing machine and feel guilty! It served me so well for so long.
I've compiled an alternative star chart of authors' work:
⭐️You are a star!
⭐️⭐️Your book left me starry-eyed! 🤩
⭐️⭐️⭐️Represents Orion's Belt - the brightest stars in the sky.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️A marvellous book!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️A bloody marvellous book!
Isn’t this gorgeous? Readers Fay and Pam sent me this handmade bauble because it matches my new cover so beautifully. 😍😍😍 Part of my Christmas from now on.
If you’re a writer who gets discouraged by the rejections, these are mine from before rejections were sent by email. Short stories, serials, features and novels - all rejected. There have been acceptances too and I’m still here and I’m doing OK. Don’t give up.
It's the cover reveal for

What do you think? It's the first in my new trilogy. Each book follows one of the Skye sisters on their journey of self-discovery, truth and romance.

Think I’ll begin the day by working from my balcony , with this view. Yesterday I wrote over 4000 words of next summer’s book so hope output keeps up.
#malta
What a great day’s writing! Over 4500 words - which is a LOT for me. Sometimes I only write that in a week. Phew! I feel all zingy and buzzy. Have a lovely evening, Twitter.
Filling in a form and it asked for my name and title. I wrote, Sue Moorcroft, Summer at the French Café. Then realised they meant Mrs, Ms, Miss etc…
Durr.
Really looking forward to going to Sicily tomorrow to begin a research trip. No prizes for guessing where my summer 2023 book is to be set! I've done a load of research online already, of course, but I really like to visit the places I write about.
Hooray! The day has dawned! I can't wait to hear what you think of Kat's life in France, thrown upside down by the truth about Jakey and the arrival of half-brother Solly and the mysterious Noah.

One week from this evening, 'the RoNAs' (Romantic Novel Awards) will take place in London. I've made no secret of how thrilled I am to be shortlisted this year and I'm now watching the weather forecast anxiously! Stay away, snow ...

What do you think of my new cover? I'm really loving it! It's so bright and beautiful. I'm a lucky author.

My dad would have been 90 today, had he lived. I expect he would still have been cracking jokes, telling stories, teasing people, smiling and laughing, forgetting people’s names and yet making them like him. RIP Dad. Love you always. Xx
That’s it for today. Despite all the bad news around me I’m blessed to have new contracts both home and abroad so I’m going to open a bottle of champagne. Have a lovely weekend, Twitter!
I’ve written over a thousand words today and I didn’t actually mean to. It began with just making a little note about something and ended with a gush of words. Love it when that happens. :-)
Decided to update my Twitter name to include the title of my latest book. Accidentally wrote 'The Chocolate Love Letters' instead of 'The Christmas Love Letters'. Chocolate is often on my mind, but that's a new level.
Wow! According to the app relating to the Covid survey I take part in, local cases have dropped to 68. They were over 1700 in January.
That’s really cheered me up.
