Found our

sign in a bush down the road. Over three nights it has been been pulled down, stomped on and screwed up. Each time we’ve put it back up with stronger ties. When I put it up this time, am thinking of adding another sign, about the security camera
History is under attack in ways we might never have foreseen even a few years ago. We need libraries and archives to act like ‘blockchains of truth’, to make it much more difficult to purge people, ideas and crimes from the historical record.

‘One of the crown jewels of Doull's shop is this wall dedicated to Penguin Books, featuring hundreds of paperback editions from the publisher. “I've been a Penguin fancier more than half of my life,” he says.’ (Andrew Sampson/CBC)

My sister sent this photo of Fiona and me with our nephew Jack; taken 2009 in our kitchen in
#Bendigo
, where I wrote my first solo authored book, at the kitchen table. Jack is now a teenager and as tall as me

The structural problem inside PwC & the rest of the Big Four: ‘In their book, Gow and Kells predicted that the world’s four big consultants would eventually be brought to their knees by the very risk-taking that has fuelled their growth’ .
Thanks in large part to the Lane family archive, now at the University of Melbourne, my history of Penguin Books paints a new picture of this fabled publishing house. The book reinstates Richard & John Lane as the literary and commercial prime-movers of Penguin in the early years
