STATIC FIRE COMPLETE! We've now learned everything we were looking for from this dev test vehicle in order to finalize the orbital design… but HELL YES we’re gonna hop it for icing on the cake.
Here’s the static fire video! This all-up test was really a hop mission simulation and included everything from flight avionics, power systems, computers, GNC, RCS, tank pressurization, and, of course, the engine and heat shield. The only thing we simulated was the position data,…
Turn your volume up! 🚀 We are Stoke Space. From seed money to engine testing, we’ve moved faster than any rocket company in history. We’re building the holy grail of rocketry: a fully and rapidly reusable rocket.
Engine and heat shield are kicking ass. Heat shield is actively cooled and fully integrated into the engine, and all Hopper flight requirements have been met. Looks pretty too!
@erikkuna
Space ops are still slow, expensive, and unreliable compared to every other mode of transportation...especially if you consider schedule. Rapid upper stage reusability changes that, and here’s a small peek into why.
This is Fine.
No, really, everything worked fine. 🚀🔥
Component testing for our MethaLox Full-Flow Staged Combustion stage 1 engine is in full swing. Here, we are testing the fuel pre-burner, which powers the fuel leg of the engine. The flame is expected since it’s burning a…
Part of engine development was demonstrating absolute mastery of the differential thrust vector control. In these “hula hoop” tests, we rotated the thrust vector in a circular fashion at progressively faster speed.
Rocket tanks and domes are historically difficult, long lead, and expensive. We put manufacturing first with an innovative approach that we can do in-house with very small machines and limited tooling. These tanks and domes all started as commodity sheet metal less than one month…
✅ Proof test complete. ⏭️ Next stop: Returning to HQ to integrate the remaining fluid systems. The dev tank is full diameter and has all the complexity of the flight design but is shorter than the flight tank.

30 years ago today the DC-X flew its maiden flight. Our generation owes so much to those who came before us, and today there’s a new fully reusable hydrogen powered space vehicle prototype beginning its own test program - thank you so much to the DC-X team for your inspiration!…
The “hula hoop” engine test verifies the dynamic response and the torque produced by our Differential Throttle Thrust Vector Control (DT-TVC). A traditional engine uses a gimbal to move the physical engine nozzle. This approach throttles individual thrusters to re-point the…
Hopper SN1 gave us lots of learning, from prop conditioning to operational procedures and terminal count. We uncovered some issues though, so we’re going to move on to SN2 and hop at end of summer.

What
@stoke_space
is working on might be one of the coolest, most innovative and exciting rocket systems to be developed… ever, in my opinion! I’m so excited to share an exclusive tour and interview with their CEO
@AndyLapsa
! THIS. IS. AWESOME! 🔥
New Year, New HQ.
Over the holiday break, we officially moved our engineering and manufacturing under one roof at our new HQ2. If you’re excited about building the next generation of fully reusable rockets, join us. Check out for open positions.
One of the things that blew my mind about
@stoke_space
’s Rocket… the actively regen cooled heat shield, powered by the same expander cycle pump that runs the main combustion chambers! Here’s a teaser of my nearly 1 hour video coming out tomorrow! 🙌 (Today for supporters)
Super excited to unveil Fusion by Stoke Space. We needed a tool that lets us build complex hardware before we know what the final product looks like. And the best news is that now everyone can have it!

Fun Fact: The photo below was taken just a few hours from the one above. Engine went from checkout tests in Kent, WA to the test site in Moses Lake, WA & installed on the stand all within a day. A huge advantage to our speed is proximity of our test site.

The powerhead includes the ox pre-burner, turbopump, and associated control valves and pumps low-pressure liquid oxygen propellant to 5000+ PSI to feed our S1 Methalox Full-flow staged combustion engine. This little guy both produces and consumes 7,000 hp to get this done.

Hello again world. We’re 18-months out of seed funding and it’s time for an update on our rocket progress:
✔️ Thrust chambers designed & tested
✔️ Ox turbopump designed & tested
✔️ Fuel turbopump designed & tested
✔️ One badass hydrolox facility designed & built
Yeah, this rocket engine looks different. That’s because it is! You’re looking at our SECOND stage engine, which was designed from the ground up to be 100% reusable and have screamin’ high performance. Time to put it through its paces! 🔥🔥
Pretty cool: We won a $1 million grant from the National Science Foundation to test our actively cooled metallic heat shield that protects our second stage during re-entry. Thank you for the continued support NSF! 🌎

Exciting news! 🚀 Retired U.S. Space Force Lt. Gen. John E. Shaw has been appointed to our Board of Directors, and Paul Croci joins the team as Stoke's new CFO. Learn more here:
“We’re passionate about making rocket launch boring.” It’s not a sexy headline, but that’s the reality of what we need. Thanks for the highlight

Watch: While SpaceX has made huge advancements in landing and relaunching fairings and boosters, it has yet to create a fully reusable system. A startup company is hoping to change this.
Hard to believe that just 1 year ago this was an empty desert... There weren’t even utilities! Incredible work by an incredible team to bring this brand new hydrogen-oxygen rocket test facility to life! 🚀
We’re so proud of our amazing interns! They’ve owned real projects that go directly into our engines, facilities, and vehicles, and they crushed it! 🚀 Saying goodbye won’t be easy...
We are more than thrilled to announce that military veteran Julia Black has joined the Stoke family as our Director of Range Operations. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2

Welllllllllll if it is, it's an ugly one. It's designed to serve a purpose... not to be an aerospike. We've been heads down on hardware and our comms are behind. Give us a minute and we'll get you caught up. Stay tuned!
