According to sources, SU's captains have requested a meeting with John Wildhack to discuss the Chase Scanlan situation. Scanlan was reinstated yesterday after being suspended last Monday. We're told Scanlan did not practice today. Players were prepared to walk out if he did.

Today marks 17 years since I said a final goodbye to my mom. That’s hard to believe. Whenever we’d say a regular goodbye, she’d always tell me to “smile, be safe, and eat something fattening.” I’m smiling. I’m safe. And I’m working on my cooking, mom.

CBA names former SU star Ryan Powell its new head coach of the varsity boys lacrosse program. Powell helped lead the Orange to the 2000 national title and was named both Attackman & Player of the Year that season. He replaces Ric Beardsley who stepped down in May.

Huge win for the 16th-ranked Syracuse men's soccer team. The Orange upsets #1 Clemson 2-1 on the road in South Carolina. Ian McIntyre's guys improve to 6-0-1 on the season. This was no fluke. They outplayed the Tigers and picked up their 3rd win this year over a ranked opponent.

LeQuint Allen has dropped his lawsuit against SU as a settlement has been reached. In a statement from Syracuse University: “LeQuint will resume his studies in the fall semester and return to football in mid-August.”Per federal privacy laws, SU will not comment further.

Unbelievable run by the Onondaga Valley All-Stars. They beat Pine Forge, PA twice today (3-2 & 13-2) to earn a trip to Alabama for the Babe Ruth World Series. Onondaga had to win six straight elimination games after an early loss Sunday. That's one resilient team - congrats boys!

Syracuse and UConn worked together to adjust the schedule for their remaining series so that the Orange didn't lose a home game this year. As a result, SU will now host the Huskies in 2024 and 2025. 'Cuse will play at Connecticut in 2026 and 2027.

Clemson was unable to travel to Syracuse yesterday due to about a half-foot of snow in South Carolina. As a result, the Tigers didn't leave until around 10am today and then held a shootaround inside the Dome upon arrival. We'll see if the same-day travel has an impact tonight...

John Desko says that Gary Gait has asked him to stay involved with the team moving forward. It won’t be an official capacity but Desko will help any way that he can - whether it be support, advice, fundraising, etc. Desko believes it will be healthy for this tight-knit program.

I've been hearing that there is a strong possibility former Westhill head coach Sue Ludwig will be joining Felisha Legette-Jack's staff at SU. The two played together at Syracuse in the '80s and are among the best ever to put on an Orange uniform. (1/2)

A source tells me that Nick Monroe will take over as SU's DC for the bowl game against Minnesota. Monroe has been on Dino Babers' staff since their time together at Bowling Green. Monroe served as SU's defensive passing game coordinator this season working with the safeties.

West Genesee has hired Shaun Smith to be the school's next boys' lacrosse head coach. Smith built the Corcoran lax program from the ground up and has been to the Sectional Finals twice. His son, Ryan, just graduated from West Genny in June.

Syracuse football is once again looking for a non-conference opponent to complete its 2024 schedule. A source tells me that Kansas has changed its mind and will not play SU next season. As a result, the search has already resumed to fill the spot vacated by Army's move to the AAC
