Thank you Kankakee and the entire sports coverage area for everything! I won’t forget any of you.
Next week is my final week in Kankakee before starting a new chapter.
The time has come for me to go back to Southern Ohio. Much love!
(1/2) Certainly not the night I anticipated. Just to update, I passed out and had to be revived, and I’m still here. My apologies to everyone at Southeastern, I didn’t mean to give you all a scare. I’m resting at the ER and doing well.
(2/2) THANK YOU to everyone who was right there to help me and bring me back. I love all of you guys very much and I’ll be back on the baseline very soon.
My thoughts and prayers go out the Miller family and the entire Zane Trace community for their loss today. Lean on one another in times like this and know that everyone in Chillicothe is right behind you. 🙏🏾
Truth be told, a lot of moments I had last year I probably shouldn’t have. February 21, 2023, I died before getting a second shot at life. I dealt with a lot & came out better for it.
But I’m entering 2024 like I do every year, doing what I love with a giant smile on my face.
Couldn’t be happier with how the
@SOSAOhio
All-Star games turned out!
THANK YOU to all of the athletes who played the games, you guys/girls are the reason that we do what we do!
Hope you all had a great time, and we can’t wait to do it again!
BASEBALL FINAL: Class 2A Super-Sectional: Herscher 1, Timothy Christian 0.

I truthfully have grown to love this place and this experience has taught me so much about myself.
Thank you all once again for everything! I’m beyond grateful, and I will truly miss you all! Much love ✊🏾
It was one year ago today that I left Ohio to start a chapter in Kankakee, Illinois as a sports reporter at the Daily Journal. This last year has taken me on an unbelievable ride, going places I've never been and covering games on the highest levels. Here's to year two!
Wilmington is one of the most consistent football programs in Illinois.
@Whsathletics
head coach Jeff Reents has compiled 216 wins and counting. I caught up with him and talked about what keeps him going and some of his best memories.

Wow!
I couldn’t be any happier with how the All-Star games turned out!
Thank you to everyone who came out to support the athletes and SOSA!
And of course, thank you to all of the athletes who played! We can’t do what we do without all of you! Hope you all had a great time!
Got asked if I was single tonight.
I said yes I am, why?
Response: Because you have perfect eyebrows.
I guess girls really do pay attention to a man’s eyebrows & how well groomed they are lol 🤷🏾♂️
And with THIS free throw,
@cam_evans2020
has become the all-time leading scorer in
@zt_boys
’ history with 1,647 points ... and counting.
He currently has 21 points to lead ZT.
Congrats on a great accomplishment, Cam!

S/O to both Manteno & BBCHS on what might be the best volleyball game I’ve ever seen. Unbelievable atmosphere, drama & intensity. Credit where it’s due. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I lost you four years ago. And while everyday gets easier, it’s still tough because I wish I could have one more conversation & laugh with you.
Love you Dad! ✊🏾
The 2-10-1 Cincinnati Bengals just beat the 11-2 Pittsburgh Steelers without Joe Burrow & Joe Mixon.
On Monday Night Football.
In primetime.
On ESPN.
2020 folks, 2020.

I couldn’t be more thankful and grateful to everyone who took the time to write a farewell to me. I really didn’t know how much of an impact I’ve had until recently. Thank you all for everything, I’ll still keep up with how everyone is doing! I’ll miss all of you!
Many of you have already seen, but for those who haven't, this week's
#DJPrepPod
is extra special. I was amazed at how many people wanted to be a part of
@SirBrockNetter
farewell, and I think we pulled it off pretty well.
Day 6 of quarantine: I’m upset.
Today was supposed to be opening day for spring sports.
I was supposed to be covering Vinton County at Paint Valley softball.
We’re all supposed to be at a ball field/track meet today.
And it’s 75 degrees outside.
This isn’t fun anymore.
Happy Birthday to
@dw1509
, my brother, business partner, one of my best friends & one heck of a dad.
Everyone go show him some love as he makes his 31st trip around the sun. Much love and Who Dey ✊🏾
BOYS BASKETBALL FINAL: IC Catholic 70, Peotone 69.

Another press conference with no clarity whatsoever regarding fall sports.
This is ridiculous, can someone just make a final decision already?
It’s August 4th!
Couldn’t be happier with how the
@SOSAOhio
All-Star 🥎 games turned out!
THANK YOU to all of the athletes who played, you are the reason that we do what we do!
Hope you all had a great time, and we can’t wait to do it again! Thank you for a great season!
⚾️, you’re up next!
I’ve been blessed and fortunate throughout my 27 years. But one of, if not the biggest blessing is having you as a mother. Happy Birthday Mom, love you! ❤️
It’s been three long years, Dad. Although the days have gotten easier, it’s still tough not being able to talk to you physically and getting advice. But I think you’d be proud of me.
Love you and miss you, pops.
Two major notes from today.
1). Visited four schools (Jackson, Adena, Unioto & Piketon) and talked to kids before/after football practice. I’ve never felt more normal!
2). Piketon is the official city of the Mullet, I’m not sure if that’s good or bad lol
Next week, before Football Friday Nights are off and running, I’ll come out with 20 🏈 players to watch for
@SOSAOhio
.
It’s a favorite of mine and gives a spotlight to some kids who are primed for monster seasons.
I can use your suggestions. Drop some names below 👇🏾
Masks have been worn and kids/parents have cooperated with every guideline possible.
Plus, we just had a successful fall season with only a handful of cancellations.
Kids aren’t getting COVID from playing sports. Let’s think rationally.
Let the kids play the season!
Hearing from multiple sources that the Ross County Health Department is “recommending” that all winter sports be postponed until Jan. 15. Nothing official yet but that’s the direction they’re trying to go.
What a disservice to our area’s youth. And that’s saying it nicely.
Happy Birthday to this ketchup steak dipping brother of mine. Lucky and fortunate to have this guy as one of my two best friends I know I can count on at any moment. Show him some Birthday love today everyone!
Take some time today to read this story. Seek the help you need if you’re going through any type of issues. You are not alone.

7:45 in the morning and I hear this conversation between two second grade girls:
Girl 1: Why are you so mad?
Girl 2: My boyfriend betrayed me!!
Girl 1: How?
Girl 2: He shared his fruit snacks with another girl…RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!
Me: 😂😂😂
Girl 2: Not today, Mr. Netter!

@VCLADYVIKES
’ Rod Bentley has stepped down as head coach of Vinton County after seven seasons.
He complied 120 wins, five TVC & sectionals titles, a district and regional title & Division II state runner-up alongside being named Division II Coach of the Year.
Incredibly happy with how the
@SOSAOhio
All-Star ⚽️ games turned out!
To everyone who showed up: athletes, coaches, parents, fans: THANK YOU!
You all are the reason that we do what we do and I hope you all enjoyed yourselves!
Can’t wait to do it all again!
10 games, 8 games, 4 games, didn’t matter to me. Football needed to happen, and here we are!
Six-game season and every team will make the playoffs if they choose to participate.
More than anything, I’m happy for the seniors who get to play. Here we come, August 28th!
Watseka’s
@harris_magan
is a legend in every sense of the word. She holds six school records, and continues to pile on!
Even more impressively, she’s done all of it while suffering from a rare syndrome that can strike at anytime.
Read her story!👇🏾

I’ve been teaching kids K-2 all school year, and yet everyday there’s always at least one kid who asks, ‘Why don’t you have any hair, Mr. Netter’?
I don’t know Johnny, ask God. He’s the one who took it 🤷🏾♂️🙈
Couldn’t be any happier for the past two nights as both
@SOSAOhio
All-Star ⚾️ & 🥎 games went great!
A huge THANK YOU to all the players and coaches for participating, hope all of you had a great time playing!
Can’t wait to do it all again next season!
Couldn’t be any happier with the turnout for the
@ohio_authority
All-Star games!
A huge THANK YOU to the athletes who played & everyone who showed up to support them!
Hope you all enjoyed the games and we look forward to the next season’s All-Star games!
Thank you, seniors!
It might be the Fourth of July, but first event of the day: My sister’s wedding.
All I’m saying is I’m the best looking one here, bar none. Sorry Ashley, I know today is your day, but I win 😎
Side note: Suit jacket was too big 😂
And just like that, another high school sports season has come to a close.
To all the athletes I was fortunate enough to cover in both Illinois & Ohio this year, it’s because of you guys & girls that I have the greatest job ever. Thank you! ✊🏾
Can’t wait to do it over again!
I don’t care what anyone says, the Women’s College World Series is pure dynamite every season.
Need to show more regular season games nationally instead of waiting until May to televise it.
WATCH: Unioto’s

Time to don this delightful ensemble (yes, feel free to laugh at it) & play baseball 1860’s style.
It’s going down tomorrow at the Adena Mansion, 2:00 gametime!
Bring a lawn chair & we’ll see you there!
