17 years ago I danced late into the night thrilled that Section 28 was consigned to history. So many of us growing up at that time carry scars from state sanctioned homophobia. We cannot allow another generation of LGBT folk to grow up with the shame so many of us did. Stand up.

And then govt cuts lgbt+anti-bullying funding 4 schools.Diversity Role Model’s research showing “homophobic,biphobic & transphobic language used in majority of schools and some schools described as unsafe places for LGBT people to be themselves.” Going backwards. Hard to take.

It gave me such a warm feeling when my daughter came home and told me her (young) teacher was talking about his “gay mug”. But it made me slightly sad for the teachers I had in the section 28 era. I tried to have a deep discussion about this, but she’s ADD, so...another day. 😀
