We traded our Hanfu’s for traditional Korean clothing, known as Hanbok, while strolling around and admiring the beautiful Gyeongbokgung Palace on our day off.
How many of these can you do? Bend your waist, extend your arms, and spin like a windmill. Hop with it, jump with it, or spin on one leg—the variations are endless.

Born in China, Principal Dancer Evangeline Zhu joined the company in 2013. Known for her serene poise and presence onstage, Evangeline and her self-mastery have proved striking to audience members throughout the world.

Our Shen Yun performers are ready to embark on the 2023 world tour!
This season will kick-off almost simultaneously on three different continents, with the first performances in Atlanta (Dec. 24), Hachioji, Japan (Dec. 26), and Berlin (Dec. 28).
When dance is life… you do it anywhere, anytime! There is a Chinese idiom that goes, “Ten years of practice for one minute on stage.” We dedicate much of our down time perfecting our moves, knowing that all the effort would pay off when we see our audience's reaction on stage!

You might be wondering, what does "Shen Yun" mean?
Shen (神) can be translated as “divine,” while Yun (韻) describes the feeling behind a physical movement. So, what would it be like if beautiful beings came down from the heavens and danced before your eyes? That’s the idea!
"Every time I do a dance move or contemplate a movement, I'm laying the groundwork for that higher realm." For principal dancer Evangeline Zhu, dancing is more than movement; it's a quest for meaning that transcends the physical realm. Get your tickets:
