bought 2 new car seats for a family involved in crash. Hearing that the car seats were damaged and learning that the victim's husband was deployed, deputies said they just wanted to help a family during a stressful situation. ♥️

Sheriff Jeff Davis presented Civilian Recognition Awards to Preston Caniglia and Roxana Francke.
In June, Preston saw a 3 y.o. at the bottom of a pool. He jumped in and pulled the boy from the water. Francke performed CPR.
The boy was hospitalized, but made a full recovery.
Deputy Roark had a special assignment today to wish William in Gretna a "Happy Birthday". William turns 4 this week and he wants to be a Police Officer when he grows up. Even now, he pretend writes tickets to "bad guys". Happy Birthday, Junior Deputy William!

Thanks to everyone who called regarding our request to contact a black lab owner from the Taries Price Platte River incident. The Good Samaritan owner has been located and interviewed regarding the assistance they provided on the Platte River on the day of the incident.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office has designed a special patrol cruiser. Deputies will drive the themed cruiser on routine patrol as a way to raise awareness year-round.
K9 Jazz is retiring from

. The Sarpy County Board will recognize her service at the Board of Commissioners meeting today. Jazz worked with her handler, Deputy Amanda Illuzzi in narcotics detection and search and rescue since 2011.
Sheriff Jeff Davis is proud to announce the promotion of James Wrigley to the rank of lieutenant. Wrigley graduated from Dana College and began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in 2008. Congratulations Lt. Wrigley!
Staack and his handler Deputy J. Jones serve our agency well. Congrats on your retirement Staack, and thanks to Dep. Jones for his countless hours of training and caretaking of the “goodest” of doggos.
Tonight will be Staack’s last night hitting the streets. Upon hearing the news of his retirement he decided to sleep through roll call. He has been an awesome partner and asset to the department and community. Happy Retirement old man!

Today, Bryan Murphy was awarded a Public Service Award and for stopping and checking on a 3-year-old boy walking by himself on Highway 31 near Schramm Park. The child had walked away from his house without his parent’s knowledge. Murphy’s quick action ensured the child’s safety.
Most prescription meds and OTC won't affect driving ability, but in certain combinations, it could be unsafe to drive. Lucky this driver only sustained minor injuries last night.
Deputy Lingnau was named "Road Patrol Deputy of the Quarter," a new peer recognition award at SCSO. Lingnau's fellow deputies said he truly embodies the "team before self" mentality. Lingnau served 20 years in the U.S. Navy and has been with SCSO for 8 years. Congratulations!

Papillion M1 is transporting a 65 Y/O male to Bergan Mercy who is now awake and alert after Sarpy County Sheriff's Office deputies performed several rounds of CPR and delivered numerous AED shocks prior to Fire/Rescue's arrival.
