Developing story on the earthquake that struck southern Turkey. Quake was close to northern Syria: White Helmets told us the situation is “disastrous”. State media reported Idlib, Latakia, Aleppo as most hit. Residents have run to the streets, escaping.

Meanwhile in #Lebanon : a friend was asked to bring an A4 paper to a government building to print her civil registry record. Another friend’s father who was paying his telephone bill couldn’t get a receipt because, as he was told, the government is out of paper.

Was given the rate of 8,200 lira to the dollar in Beirut today. Meanwhile, have never seen so many people asking for money on Beirut’s streets — most do not look like they’ve been asking for long. A woman outside AUBMC kept yelling, “I’m Lebanese, lk wallah I’m Lebanese.”

Head of Nursing Department at the Indonesian Hospital said the hospital has transformed into a mass grave. “There are corpses in all departments.” Added that there are “60 bodies in front of the mortuaries, and we will bury them in any courtyard inside the hospital.”
