Romier Narag (27) charged with murder by use of a firearm and two counts of Felony Child Endangerment for allegedly killing the mother of his two children on March 6th, arrested at the scene by @DalyCityPD . Narag will be arraigned today at 1:30 in Redwood City.

Dharmesh Patel (40) charged with 3 counts of attempted murder and enhancements. Patel is alleged to have deliberately steered his vehicle off a 250 foot cliff at Devils Slide with his wife and his two young children inside (ages 4 and 7).

On January 7, 2006, @epapd Ofc Richard May was shot and killed in the line of duty while accompanied by a 14yr old police cadet. That cadet bravely testified and helped convict May's killer. Today Mr. Wagstaffe & the May family watched that very cadet become a @SMCSheriff Deputy.

Alejandro Vanegas Guevara (29) sentenced to 90 years to life in prison for the rape of 3 women including a 62 yr old woman at a bus stop. Guevara was convicted by jury in December '22. Incredible investigative work by @SanMateoPD , @RedwoodCityPD & @SMCSheriff led to his arrest.

Jaime Picazo was previously convicted of sexual offenses against a child. He appealed on the grounds that his victim testified accompanied by our office support dog, Clover. Yesterday the CA Appellate Court disagreed & reaffirmed a victim's right to a therapy dog under 868.4 PC.

Kevin Prasad (37) found guilty on all counts by jury including 1st degree murder, lying in wait & firing into a occupied vehicle. April '18, Prasad shot and killed Mark Mangaccat after Mangaccat's girlfriend repeatedly rebuffed Prasad's efforts to start a relationship with her.

Inspector Jordan Boyd received a Service Award from the Peninsula Council of Lions. In 2020, Inspector Boyd heard on a recorded jail call that an inmate received EDD benefits and in turn, launched what became a statewide investigation, uncovering $1 Billion in fraudulent claims.

John Navarro (40) denied parole following hearing attended by one of our Deputy DAs. In '03 Navarro & accomplice were on HWY 380, became angry when another driver honked at them, & fired multiple times at the victim vehicle, killing a passenger. Navarro was sentenced to 30 yrs.

Margot McCloud (61) found guilty by jury of battering an elder adult. In 2020, McCloud was the live in caretaker for an 85 yr old stroke victim who was seen by a neighbor repeatedly striking the victim on the head for reportedly placing trash in the wrong bin. Sentencing May 3rd.

Amelia Minjarez (30) found guilty by jury of felony possession of stolen car, as well as possession drug paraphernalia & meth. Oct '21, @SanMateoPD found Minjarez pushing a stolen vehicle through an intersection because it had run out of gas. Inside was 3 bags of meth & a pipe.

Watson Papa Opeti (25) sentenced to 50 yrs to life for murder, including the firearm enhancement. June '21, Opeti shot and killed the victim during a robbery for a satchel of cash, then posted a photo of the stolen bag and money to Facebook 3 hrs later.
